  1. Primer– Prior to using the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream, I used a moisturizer AND primer before putting on my makeup. The magic cream serves as both! So while it is a little bit of a splurge, it is taking the place of two products. And it certainly lives up to it’s name. It is pure MAGIC! It leaves my skin soft and hydrated without feeling greasy or like my make up will slide off of my face. It also fills in my pores so that the rest of my make up goes on as smoothly as possible. If you are someone with oily skin and/or bigger pores, you will love this product.
  2. Foundation– I’ve raved about the IT Cosmetics CC Cream for years now. I’ve been using it almost 7 years and would be surprised if I ever switch away. I have tried other foundations that compete it with it such as the Estee Lauder Double Wear or NARS Natural Radiant Foundation , but I always come back to this one. It is full coverage without looking cakey. I wear it on “no makeup” days with mascara and even to go out with a full face of make up. It’s the perfect everyday foundation. It also comes in a matte formula that I would suggest for oily/combination skin and an illumination formula that I like to mix with the regular formula in the Spring/Summer for a more dewy look. I use shade light in the winter months and medium in the warmer months.
  3. Concealer– I have used Tarte Shape Tape for years and would highly suggest it if you have dark circles. I use it under my eyes, in between my brows, down my nose, and over any blemishes. I apply it with the applicator and then “dab” it into my skin with a damp beauty blender.
  4. Setting Powder– I use this loose setting powder with a damp beauty blender to set my concealer under my eyes. There is something about using loose powder that seams to work better for this area of the face. I’ll use any residue from the beauty blender in any oily areas of my face, usually my T zone.
  5. Pressed Powder – I have found that applying a translucent pressed powder with a brush works best for the rest of my face as it doesn’t apply as much concentrated make up in one application. I particularly love this setting powder because it has a small amount of illumination in the formula meaning it gives a slight glow! Love this for a natural, dewy finish. The setting powders are meant to make your make up last longer by minimize oil and grease.
  6. Bronzer – I am not a contour girl by any means but I do like a bronzer that I can use all over whether that be my cheek bones, hair line or neck. This is not a matte bronzer as it does have a slight shimmer to it which personally I feel like makes the face less dull! It gives a very natural, sun kissed tan to the face. I apply it in a 3 motion along my hair line, under my cheek bones, and below my jaw line. I will also bring it down my neck.
  7. Blush – While this blush oddly looks like a female body part that I won’t name, I cannot say enough good things! I fell in love with this product the moment I started using it. I use the shade “First Love” which is almost a cross between a bronzer and blush. It gives the perfect sun kissed look. Not too pink, not too coral, just right!
  8. Highlighter – I apply highlighter on days I want a little extra “oomph”. It makes the face pop a little more, especially for pictures. I apply my highlighter on top of my cheek bones, above my blush, above my eyebrows, down my nose and above my upper lip. Think about it as putting the highlighter anywhere that the sun would naturally catch your face.
  9. Setting Spray – The last thing I do before heading out of the house. Setting spray is used to hold your makeup in place throughout the day/night and is honestly a So refreshing! I’ve noticed a huge difference since adding this step into my routine.
  10. Eyeshadow– I’ve been using this pallete for the past year and absolutely love it. Most of the shades are in the brown family with hints of purple and pink making it a great Spring/Summer, everyday pallete. Most of the colors have a shimmer to them so if you prefer matte palletes, I would not suggest this one.
  11. Pencil Liner – I don’t like harsh eyeliner on my bottom water line so I usually use eyeshadow or this pencil. I use shade “smog” and it is the perfect color to make your eyes pop.
  12. Liquid Liner – This drugstore liquid liner has a felt tip that provides easy application. I use this on my lids and sometimes to make a cat eyeliner look. I’ve tried the higher end versions and this one trumped all of them!
  13. Mascara – The best drugstore mascara out there and personally my overall favorite. If you have long lashes and like bristle brush applicators, you’ll love this one.
  14. Brow Pencil – I used Anastasia pencils for years before finding this gem. It last 3X as long as it very similar. It has an angled pencil on one end and a brow brush on the other. I used shade soft brown.
  15. Brow Gel – A newer find for me but since I have long eyebrow hairs, this clear gel makes sure to keep the hairs in place all day without giving them a gel like appearance.
  16. Lipstick – I use shade Backtalk and it is a great everyday shade. Not too pink, not too brown, but a soft shade in the middle. It is also not too matte which I love since my lips tend to get chapped and this one does not have that effect!
  17. Powder Brush – I use this to apply my setting powder.
  18. Blush Brush – I use this too apply my blush to my cheek bones.
  19. Bronzer Brush – I use this too apply bronzer as well as blend out any harsh lines from the bronzer and blush.
  20. Eyeshadow Brush – I use this to apply my eyeshadow. It is the only brush that I use for my lid, crease and outer corners. It is a great blending brush too.
  21. Beauty Blender – I use this too apply my concealer and loose setting powder. Make sure it is ALWAYS damp when you use it. This mean running and squeezing it under running water for at least 15 seconds before use.

Skincare Routine

1. Precleanse – A pre cleanser is meant to be used before your cleanser to take your make up off. If you are taking your make up off with your cleanser, it is not having the chance to do it’s job. Wipe your make up off and open up those pores so that you can really clean them properly.
2. Cleanser – The only product I use morning and night. This Dermalogica cleanser is a great, gentle option that I have used for 3 years now. I have tried others and always come back to this one.
3. Acne Cleanser – While I’ve tried higher end acne cleansers I always come back to this one for two reasons. 1) It is under $10 and 2) It has 10% benzoyl peroxide which is an acne fighting ingredient. Most other products have between 2-5%. I don’t use this product every day, but I do most! If you experience hormonal or random acne, I highly suggest working a second, acne-fighting cleanser into your routine. I know it seems a little excessive to have multiple cleansers, but it has made all of the difference for my skin!
4. Toner – A newer product to me (< a year) and I’ll never use anything else. It is gentle, does not sting or burn my eyes and gets any remaining make up, dirt or gunk off of my face before applying my high end products. You would be surprised how much stuff can come off of your face even after 3 cleansers! I use the toner with a cotton pad and just run it all over my face.
5. Face Oil – If I was stranded on a deserted island, this is the one product I would bring! I swear by it. I have a few face oils but this is the only own I couldn’t live without. It has drastically reduced my hormonal acne. It has tea tree and salicylic acid which are two acne fighting ingredients. I look forward to this step every night!
6. Face Serum – My second must have product that has drastically changed my skin since using it. This serum has lactic acid in it which minimizes pore size, fine lines and smoothes skin. I have seen a noticeable difference since using this product when it comes to my pore sizes and minimizing my acne scars too. It also feels AMAZING going on your skin. It tingles a little bit. In a good way 🙂
7. Moisturizer – I don’t use a moisturizer every night. I use this moisturizer on two occasions. 1) when my skin really needs a little extra TLC and 2) when I want to tan my face because I mix my face tanning drop with it. I like this moisturizer better than others because it is a thinner consistency so the tanning drops mix in easily, it has SPF 50 and smells like ginger!
8. Spot Treatment – This is a newer product to me and I haven’t decided if I love it or not or when is best to use it but if I have a pimple, I will put this on it before bed and let it dry out overnight. You apply the product with a Q-tip to the pimple and let the product dry before going to bed and then wash it off in the morning. If it works properly, your blemish should be noticeably smaller in the morning! No pimple is created equal and this doesn’t work for every pimple. I have found it really only works for those stubborn, underground pimples. Also, it can only be used for untouched blemishes, once you poke or “pop” them, it does not work and should not be used.
9. Face Tanner – I have not had the chance to try out the Isle of Paradise drops that everyone is raving about but I have used these for years and love them. You just add a few drops to your daily moisturizer and it creates a gradual, natural tan. I just use this for my face. I have heard that people use the Isle of Paradise ones on other parts of their body by adding the drops to their body lotion.
10. Body Tanner – My ride or die self tanner. No matter what shade you are, I always suggest the dark shade. It gives the most natural looking tan and you are able to control how dark you want. All of the other St. Tropez shades that I have tried haven’t given me the level of darkness that I want. This one works for all seasons. The longer you leave it on the darker you will get. I apply the mousse with a tanning mitt (you must), let it dry, and then sleep in it. I typically leave it on for at least 8 hours before washing it off for maximum darkness. It will get on clothing and sheets and has a self tanner smell but it will wash out. I typically wear loose, dark clothing to bed.
11. Tanning Mitt – I use this to apply my self tanner. If you are using any kind of semi-permanent self tanner you will want to use a mitt so you do not stain your hands.
12. Instant Tan – Another new product that I LOVE. If I forget to self tan or just want a one time tan, this is the best product! It’s more like a body make up than a tanner. It comes out as a lotion and you just rub it into any area that you want to tan. You do not want to put it on areas that will touch clothes as it will rub off. It gives a very natural, not orange, sun kissed look.

Hair Care Routine

  1. Brush – The best brush for wet or dry hair!
  2. Shampoo – My everyday shampoo that is great for color treated hair and smells SO good. I’ve also noticed that I could go longer in between washes when I started using this!
  3. Conditioner – I love this conditioner! It leaves my hair silky smooth and smelling AMAZING.
  4. Hair Mask – Since I put so much heat on my hair, I try to do a deep conditioner once a week to give my hair a little TLC. If you use a lot of heat or find that your hair feels dry or damaged, I highly suggest this product. You apply it in the shower, leave it on for 5+ minutes and then wash it out. It’s like a normal conditioner but on steroids 🙂
  5. Hair Dryer – The hype is real about the T3 hair dryers. While they take a little bit longer to dry, they aren’t nearly as drying or damaging as others. My hair feels much smoother after using the T3 than others.
  6. Curling Iron – The perfect size barrel and I love that you can control the heat of this iron. 1.25″ is the perfect size curl as you can brush it out for a loose wave or leave the tighter curl for a more polished look.
  7. Curling Wand – Again, the perfect sized barrel! If you are more of a wand girl than an iron, this is my best wand on the market and budget friendly too!
  8. Straightener – I’ve had my Chi straightener for over 10 years and still love it!
  9. Dry Shampoo – The best dang dry shampoo out there. I love the coconut smell and that it does not leave a white, residue in my hair. Also I feel like other brands have left noticeably more build up which ends up forcing me to wash my hair,, whereas this one does not.
  10. Texturizing Hair Spray – I personally do not use a texturizing spray but LOVE this product. It doubles as a texturizing and hair spray. It is flexible enough to be sprayed all over without the firm hold of a hairspray yet still hold all day! Like the name, it gives you that “wind blown” effect. Think sex hair in a can 😉
  11. Heat Protectant – Not only does this heat protectant smell like absolute heaven (no really you will want to bathe in it), it protects your hair up to 450 degrees. I use this before I blow dry my hair and before I apply any sort of hot tools.
  12. Purple Shampoo – Purple shampoo is not just for blondes! If you have any sort of highlights, I highly suggest purple shampoo. Bleached hair (any sort of highlights) will naturally start to get a slight yellow/orange tint if  not treated. Purple shampoo will make those blonde pieces blonde again. Or even if you are not blonde, it will lighten the lighter pieces of your hair to a more cool tone than warm tone. I use the purple shampoo once a week.
  13. Silk Pillowcase – I swear by this product! It has been a complete game changer for my hair. I can go much longer between hair washes and it keeps my curls in tact so that I don’t have to touch them up every day. See more of the benefits here.

Natural Beaded Row Hair Extensions Q + A

Natural Beaded Row Extensions HoustonNatural Beaded Row Extensions Houston

WHAT KIND OF EXTENSIONS DID YOU GET?

I got Natural Beaded Row (NBRs) extensions originally founded and created by Danielle of DKW Styling. You can learn more about this kind of extension method here.

WHAT LENGTH ARE THEY?

I got the 18 inch hair but you are able to get 18 or 22 inch. Once they are installed, your stylist will custom color and cut the hair to any length that you desire so that your new hair and real hair blend naturally.

HOW ARE THEY ATTACHED TO YOUR HEAD?

I got two rows of hand tied hair. Each row has multiple pieces of hair attached to it so even if you get one row you would be adding a significant amount of hair. They are attached with a bead and string to create a track along your scalp and then the row of hair is sewn to that track. Since I have two rows in my hair, I have two tracks.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET THEM?

The initial install can take up to 6 hours. This is because they will need to color your hair, custom color the extensions, install the extensions, blend the two and style your new do!

HOW MUCH DOES THE HAIR COST?

They are an investment. That being said, the cost really is dependent on the person and look you are wanting to achieve. Cost is determined by several factors the main two being desired length and volume. If you just want volume, this is much cheaper! But once you start adding length, this is where it gets more and more expensive because you have to add considerably more hair so that the hair does not look stringy. Since I wanted to add volume and length to my hair, my service fell under the most expensive package which is upwards of $2k.

HOW MUCH IS THE MAINTENANCE?

You have to go into the salon every 6-8 weeks to have the wefts moved up. This process is much less lengthy than the initial install. It can cost anywhere from $500-$800 each time you have them moved up which covers tightening, color, and style.

CAN YOU BRUSH YOUR HAIR?

Yes! You do have to be a little careful at the root of your hair where the extensions are attached but other than that you can brush your hair like normal! I use a wet brush.

DO THEY DAMAGE YOUR HAIR?

NBR extensions are supposed to be the “best” type of extension to minimize hair loss. While you will always have some natural breakage and fall out with extensions, NBRs are the best type because they have the least amount of contact points on your head. The more contact points, the more damaging.  Since these are only attached with minimal beads, they are proven to be less damaging than other types of extensions that have considerably more contact points such as beaded, fusion or even tape in extensions. As I have them for longer, I will keep you all posted on this one!

CAN YOU SWIM WITH THEM?

Yes! You can swim, workout and all that jazz just like you normally would. The only thing to be weary of is getting sunscreen on the extension hair as it can distort the color.

WHERE DID YOU GET THEM DONE?

I go to Amanda at Amanda K Styling for my extensions and color and cannot recommend her enough! Not only does she do amazing work, her salon is beautiful and all of the girls that work there are so much fun! You’ll want to return before the 6-8 mark just to hang out for the day:) If you are interested in getting your hair done at Amanda K Styling, your phone consultation is FREE, but they do require a non-refundable booking deposit of $500 to book an appointment. Your deposit goes towards the price of your first visit.

LONGEVITY.

The hair lasts 4-6 months but depending on how well you take care of it could last longer. You are looking to make the initial investment of $1.5k-$2k twice a year.

COMFORT.

This was one thing I wasn’t prepared for. With previous types of hair extensions I had no problems with them hurting or itching. That was not the case with these. Since I got two rows, my head definitely felt heavier than normal. I had a headache for the first couple of days. Sleeping the first night was a struggle. And they itched like crazy for weeks. All of these things are considered to be normal as your scalp/head is getting used to the new weight and hair.

MAINTENANCE/UPKEEP.

You can wash, dry, brush and style your hair pretty much the exact same way as without extensions. Washing does take a little more precision to get the roots clean but nothing out of the ordinary. The best part of these extensions has been how much longer I can go without washing my hair! I can go around a week before really needing to wash my hair. even before the NBRs, I swore by my silk pillowcase and dry shampoo to prolong my hair washes. I went from having to wash my hair every 4 days to going upwards of 9 days with these extensions.

It does take a long time to dry and style the extensions. You are looking at anywhere between 2-4 hours total depending on the volume/length of your hair. I tend to let my hair air dry for an hour or so before blow drying the rest. This will significantly speed up the amount of time under the heat of the dryer. I usually pick one day a week where I know I don’t need to be anywhere (ex: Sunday afternoon) and wash/style for the week.

STYLING.

You should be able to style your hair any way you want for the most part and not have them show: ponytails, braids, up dos, half up-half down, etc. The only issue you will run into is that you can’t do pigtails or any type of hair do that would require you to part your hair down the middle. Since the rows of hair lay flat across your head they will slightly show if you part your hair down the middle of your head.

Something amazing to note is that the extension hair holds a curl SO wellI. I usually can get away with curling my hair once for the entire week with very minimal touch ups throughout the week. So while it does take quite a bit more time to wash and style your hair it does last so much longer than normal! Another thing to note is that it makes basically every hair style look SO much better. Braids are bigger and better, ponytails are fuller and overall your locks are much more voluminous. If you want to play around with hair accessories I have some of my favorites linked here.

PRODUCTS.

I use all of my same products to wash and style my hair as I did before having extensions. Click through below to see the products that I use to style my hair. I have found that the extension hair is a little more textured than my natural hair so I have added in a heat protectant and deep conditioner.

I am in LOVE with my new hair. If you have always wanted long, luscious locks, this is your best bet. For those that are maybe thinking about getting hair extensions, this would be my advice for you. If you are just wanting extensions for a one time event (for ex: wedding, prom, etc), a more affordable and less permanent option like clip ins would probably be best for you. If you aren’t ready to make the monetary commitment to NBR hair extensions, then tape in extensions might be a good route for you. And lastly, if you are wanting a more permanent option, I cannot say enough good things about my NBR hair extensions. While they are pricey, I 100% think they are worth it. For the amount of overall length and volume I wanted, NBRs were what worked best for me and I am SO happy with the outcome!

If there are any other questions that you would like answered about my hair extensions, please leave them below in the comments and I will answer them there!

Save vs Splurge: Walmart Edition

Two Walmart posts in a row?! I’ve officially hopped on the bandwagon. Also, I thought it was about time I brought the save vs. splurge series that started on Instagram on over to the blog so that it’s easy to reference back to at a later date. My philosphy with this series is why splurge on the real deal if the dupe is just as good?! I’m all about saving money where I can and I know you ladies feel me on that! So first up in this series, I thought I’d share some of my drugstore make up purchases along with some of the really great dupes I’ve seen at Walmart recently.

*CLICK ANY OF THE BELOW IMAGES IN THE COLLAGES TO SHOP*

Accessories are something that I splurge on occasionally. I’m talking maybe a designer purse every other year but between those big, more long term, classic purchases I love making smaller, trendy purchases. Straw bags are one of those trendy purchases that I am talking about. I love them for the Spring/Summer but I want a new one every year and when I say I want one, I really want five so saving money is optimal.

Trendy shoes are another area that I tend to save because chances are they will be out of style next season. I love the look of the Sam Edelman woven mules but refused to pay $90 for them so these $14 woven mules from Walmart get the job done.

When it comes to make up, there are some items that I 100% splurge on and others that I will forever pick up on my weekly (er, daily) Walmart runs. Mascara will forever be a save item for me ever since I found L’Oreals Lash Paradise. It is said to be an identical dupe to Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. I’ll never go back to buying expensive mascara now that I love this one so much!

Another product that I will forever use is the NYX precision brow pencil. I used the Anastasia brow wiz for years and let me just tell you the NYX is an identical dupe but has way more product in it. So not only is it less than half the price of the Anastasia, it lasts almost twice as long.

Spring Make Up Refresh

International Womens Day Spring Make Up Refresh

I have been compensated by QVC for this post. As always, all opinions are my own!

International Womens Day Spring Make Up Refresh

International Womens Day Spring Make Up Refresh

International Womens Day Spring Make Up Refresh

International Womens Day Spring Make Up Refresh

Happy International Women’s Day ladies! While I think we should celebrate women everyday, today is a special day for womanhood and how far we have come. Celebrate all of the women who are killing it in the workforce. Celebrate all of the women who are raising babies. Celebrate all of the women who sacrifice day in and day out. Celebrate ALL of the women all over the world who are making a difference for our future. We still have a long way to go but I’m so proud to be a woman today hopefully opening doors for all of the women that will come after me.

I know this might seem unrelated but stick with me here. With Spring around the corner, a few weeks ago I thought it would be fun to challenge myself to try out some new make up products! Coincidentally right around the same time that I decided it was time for a Spring make up refresh, one of my followers asked me a question that sparked a fun idea. The question was, “If you could only use one make up product the rest of your life, what would it be?”. I didn’t even have to think twice about my answer. IT Cosmetics CC Cream of course!

I’ve used IT Cosmetics CC Cream for over 5 years, I’ve tried changing foundations and always go back to it. Always. The same follower asked me if I had tried any other other IT Cosmetics products and that’s when I realized I haven’t! How could I not have tried any other products from the brand I just deemed I couldn’t live without?! So I made it a mission to try out a full face worth of IT Cosmetics products and I’m so excited to share that my Spring Make Up Refresh is comprised of just that.

The more I dove into researching IT Cosmetics, I found out that it was founded by a woman and as a female business owner myself, it always brings me a little more joy knowing that the brand I am supporting was founded by a fellow girl boss! Women should support other women no matter how big or small!

So I’m excited to share that I found all of the products I’ve added into my Spring make up line up on a website that is supporting this mission. In honor of International Women’s Day, QVC® and HSN will be contributing $100,000 to Nest, buildanest.org, a global nonprofit committed to the social and economic advancement of women by supporting female artisans who might not have the resources they need to flourish. We invite you to visit QVC.com to learn more and support Nest—QVC is even matching donations on ALL sales today! Shop all of my new make up products below.

Let’s Talk Lashes

Avon Lash Serum and Mascara

*Disclosure: This post is in partnership with Avon*

Although I don’t wear make up every day, when I do the first question you ladies ask me is “Are your eyelashes real?!”. Talk about a confidence booster! I’ve always had decently long eyelashes which made me hesitant to try lash extensions or any sort of lash boost serum because I didn’t want to risk damaging my natural lashes. But with bold eyelashes having such a moment right now, my moto quickly became the longer and more voluminous looking, the better! So I set out in hunt of a natural remedy to get my eyelashes to visibly grow.

I looked into several lash serums but the price tag would quickly talk me out of it. It wasn’t until I found Avon’s Anew Clinical Unlimited Lashes Lash and Brow Activating Serum that I decided to take the plunge. Normally $60, currently on sale for $40 (use code LASH at checkout), it was the best price I had seen so I figured if it didn’t work I was only out $40 instead of $100+ like all of the others I had seen. I also recently started using Avon True Color Love at 1st Lash True Color Mascara and to say that the lash serum and mascara are a “perfect pair” is all too true! Grab the duo here.

Let’s Talk Lash Serum

WHAT IS A LASH BOOST SERUM?

Think of it as a daily vitamin for your eyelashes! Just like your body should be getting daily vitamins to grow big and strong, your eyelashes can be too. Anew Clinical Unlimited Lashes Lash and Brow Activating Serum is made with a blend of the peptide technology Capixyl, which promotes thicker, fuller, healthier-looking lashes. Not to mention, it’s Paraben, Sulfate, and Phthalate free plus it is dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested!

HOW DO YOU APPLY IT?

I apply it every night after I have washed my make up off and cleansed my face. Just swipe it on your eyelids at the base of the lash line where you would put liquid eyeliner. I just use one dip for both lash applications.

DOES IT IRRITATE YOUR EYES?

Personally, I never had any itching, redness or burning from the serum although I have read that can be a side effect. If you look at the reviews on this product, you will see that there are very few people that have had any of those side effects either:)

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?

Patience is key which is so hard! I have been using the serum (almost) every night for about 5 weeks now and I would say I just started seeing noticeable results last week (week 4). For best results, you are encouraged to use it for 12 weeks. I plan on using the whole tube and will keep you gals updated!

Avon Lash Serum and Mascara

Avon Lash Serum and Mascara

Let’s Talk Mascara

WHY USE THIS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE SERUM?

For me personally it was important for me to use a quality mascara so as to take the best care of my lashes during my lash transformation. The Avon True Color Love at 1st Lash True Color Mascara is great because it contains vitamins A, C and E to condition your lashes, and olive oil & Lycopene to strengthen your lashes.

WHAT MAKES THIS MASCARA STAND OUT?

For one the price tag, which is always a selling factor for me. But more than that, I love it because it is thick without clumping. Other mascaras that I have used required upwards of 5-6 applications before seeing the desired effects. On fast days I only need one swipe of this one and on days I want a little extra “oomph”, I still only need 2-3 applications. It does not transfer onto my eyelids at all throughout the day and it is very easy to take off at the end of the day. I hate mascaras that refuse to come off when I want them to!

WHAT IS THE PRICE?

$12 or you can buy the lash serum and mascara bundle for $45 + free shipping!

WHERE CAN I FIND IT?

You can find both the Avon True Color Love at 1st Lash True Color Mascara and Anew Clinical Unlimited Lashes Lash and Brow Activating Serum on Avon’s website.

HOW DO YOU APPLY IT?

The same you would any mascara! There are short and long bristles on the applicator brush making it very easy to comb through your lashes. I usually do one swipe on the top of my lashes (side closest to my lid) and then 2-3 on the underside always making sure to evenly spread out my lashes from the base all the way to the ends. I usually do one application all over and then the after that I will work from the inside of my eye to the outside. Just like a pair of false eyelashes, you want the outside (furthest away from your eye) to look the longest and fullest!

General Lash Questions

HAVE YOU HAD LASH EXTENSIONS?

I’ve worn false lashes but I’ve never had lash extensions. I usually wear false lashes for big events and photo shoots. Even with longer lashes, I will probably always do this just because it makes them stand out more for photos. I’ve heard way too many horror stories from friends about lash extensions ruining your natural lashes so I haven’t tried them. I’ve heard once you start you really can’t stop because it makes your natural lashes shorter and more sparse.

HAVE YOU HAD A LASH LIFT?

No but I want to! Lash Lifts will give the illusion of longer lashes without actually addressing the “problem”. Just like lash extensions, it is a temporary fix and a bit of an investment. For me personally, I wanted to try out a more natural remedy before investing in something like this. I’ve done some research and Lash Lifts are upwards of $150 and usually last about 6-8 weeks.

HOW DO YOU WEAR EXTENSIONS AND WASH YOUR FACE?

Since I only wear false lashes, I remove them before washing my face. For lash extensions, since you technically aren’t supposed to wear mascara, I’ve heard you wash your face the same way you would without extensions, just be extra careful around your eyes as not to rub, scrub or wash too intensely. I would recommend hitting up your good friend YouTube for this one:)
