The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has officially started! Icon and Ambassadors can start shopping today, cardholders can start shopping tomorrow (11:30 am CST), and everyone else will get their shot at the sale on July 18th. If you want to shop before that date it’s not too late to sign up for a Nordstrom credit card here. I only use my Nordstrom card during the sale every year!
I’m sharing what I purchased along with all of my initial favorite picks. Keep in mind that new items will be added daily but these first items may or may not be restocked! Things are already flying off the shelves so if you see something you want, don’t hesitate on clicking that purchase button. You can always check out several times since Nordstrom has free shipping and free returns! Also, if you aren’t sure on size, order both sizes you are between and send the other back! Better to be safe than sorry as leaving something in your basket for more than a few minutes can mean you miss out!
I personally opted to order online and pick up in store the majority of my purchases. This means that Nordstrom will pull all of the items that you purchased and have them waiting for you at the customer service desk for you to pick up. Literally within a couple of hours! This is by far a better option than fighting the crows. I went before the sale started this week and it was already a madhouse! Also, there is 10X the selection online as there is in store as many of these items are “online only”.
Every year I stock up on “basics” meaning cotton tees, denim, cardigans, and leggings as these are the most worn pieces in my closet and truly are the most versatile. I love these $11 tees and also $18 long sleeve teesfor layering when it starts to get a little cooler. The striped ones are always so cute peaking out from underneath a sweater! Last year I purchased this suede moto jacket and got way more use out of it than I thought! It goes with everything: jeans, dresses, you name it! Grab it while it’s almost $60 off. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of these and I highly suggest getting them in multiple colors.

Literally, figuratively, and emotionally. All of the above because if you don’t know how to shop it, I can assure you that it can be overwhelming. After three years of doing this, I know how to find the hidden gems before everyone else and I’m sharing all of it with all of YOU!
WHAT IS THE “NSALE”?
If you have been around here long enough, you know I haunt sales like it’s my job. Unlike other sales that mark down old or last season’s trends, the Nordstrom Anniversary Salehas BRAND NEW items (both Summer and Fall finds) discounted by up to 40% off from brands like Tory Burch, Top Shop, MAC, Stuart Weitzman, Free People, Rebecca Minkoff and SO many more! The sale runs for 3.5 weeks with new items added each day and at the end of the sale, everything goes back to full price. You can view some of the first items that will go on sale here.
WHEN DOES THE NSALE START?
July 9th Icon Level Nordy Club members can pre-shop in-store!
July 10th & 11th Icon and Ambassador Nordy Club members can pre-shop in store!
July 12th, 12:30 pm EST Early Access begins for Nordstrom Cardholders
July 19th The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to the public
August 4th The sale ends and items return back to full price
HOW SHOULD I PREP?
1. GET THE NORDSTROM CREDIT CARD
Only Nordstrom cardholders will gain access on July 12th- a full week before the rest of the world. The reason this matters is because most of the good stuff WILL sell out before public access even opens. It happens every year. I finally bit the bullet this year and applied for the credit card because after two years of not having it, I know better.If you want to shop the sale early, APPLY ASAP so you can be approved before early access starts. If you apply before July 10th, you will get a $60 Nordstrom note (aka FREE money!). Apply here.
PRO TIP: Make sure you add your card to your Nordstrom online account before the sale starts so you’re completely ready to shop when it’s go time!
2. MAKE A LIST OF WHAT YOU NEED
The sale will bring out new items geared for Fall/Winter but there will also be items that you can wear now! While you might not be ready just yet to think about cold weather clothing, the deals that you will score now are well worth it later on. In years past my favorite items to shop for were leather boots, lightweight jackets, designer purses, jeans, everyday tops and beauty items. I highly suggest going through your closet now to see what items you actually need verses making impulse decisions when the sale comes.

4. SHOP ONLINE!
If this is your first Nordstrom Sale rodeo than you are about to see just how overwhelming the sale can be. Stores are a madhouse. I would say comparable to the hunger games so shopping online is much more preferable and less stressful. If you are nervous about sizing, order two and return the one that doesn’t work. Nordstrom offers free shipping and returns + really affordable expedited shipping compared to a lot of retailers. However, if you need your purchase same-day, you can still shop it online and opt for in-store or curbside pickup!
TOPSHOP TOP // Great for work or play although if wanting to wear for work you will need to wear it with a high waisted option and a black tank underneath. Runs true to size. I’m wearing a 4.
HALOGEN PANTS // How fun are these?! They also come in black. Keep in mind that I am 5’4″ so they might hit you a little more cropped. If in between sizes, size down. I got the 0 and it was big.
BLANKNYC JEANS // Run true to size but have no stretch! High waisted, have a raw hem and are a cropped fit. Remind me of Levi’s denim.
1901 PANTS // High waisted and run true to size! Keep in mind these are a cropped fit.
HALOGEN SLIDES // Run true to size + come in several colors. The back has part elastic so it is very comfortable. I highly recommend for my working ladies! I am obsessed with the leopard print as well.
TOPSHOP JUMPSUIT // This is a great wear now or later option. Could also been worn to work with a white, khaki or pink blazer. Runs big so I suggest sizing down if you are on the shorter or small chested side. I went with the XXS.
BP MULES// Come in 4 colors. Run small. Order a half size up!
HALOGEN DRESS // Comes in 5 colors/patterns and is the perfect work wear dress. I bought it in this print and all black. Super cute with a cardigan or blazer as well. Runs true to size.
1 STATE HEELS // Arguably the most underrated shoe of the entire sale! Come in leopard as well as 5 solid color options. Run true to size. The block heel makes them the perfect, comfortable work shoes option.
BP MULES// Come in 4 colors. Run small. Order a half size up!
HALOGEN TANK // These are the perfect cotton layering tanks for transitional weather and especially great for working ladies since the tank width is appropriate for work. Just throw on with a blazer or cardigan. Run true to size and come in several colors. Under $20!!
BLANKNYC SKIRT // So good I bought it again this year! Comes in 2 colors but runs on the smaller side. I suggest sizing up. I got the 25.
ITALEAU BOOTIES // A bit of a splurge but SO worth it. The smell of the leather alone will have you convinced. They are so well made and have padded shoe inserts for extra comfort and arch support.
CASLON SWEATER // Comes in 4 colors and has the cutest tie back! Long enough to wear with leggings. True to size.
BP MOTO LEGGINGS // Look like jeans but they are actually leggings and just $25! Size up.
BP TEE // $11 so stock up while you can. I bought it in every color. Runs a tad bit big so I suggest sizing down if you don’t plan on drying it. Get your normal size if you plan to dry it or knot it!

SPANX FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS // These are a top seller every year. Can be dressed up or down and truly are the bees knees. Make sure to size up!
ADIDAS // Come in 2 colors and run true to size. These are my number one sneaker rec from the sale.
LEITH SHIRT // I sized up for more of a tunic look to wear with leggings. If wanting to wear with jeans, true to size.
SPANX FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS // These are a top seller every year. Can be dressed up or down and truly are the bees knees. Make sure to size up!
VINCE CAMUTO BOOTS // I regretted not getting these last year. They have the perfect heel height and I love that they don’t hug the calf area too tightly. Come in suede 3 colors and run true to size.

UGG FLATS // Working ladies you NEED these. As soon as I put them on my feet, I wanted them in every color. They are the first pair of flats that I could wear for hours, not kidding. They come in 4 colors and run true to size.
