Sweater Dress & India Hicks Giveaway

Be sure to read all the way to the bottom of this post since there is a giveaway for one special follower! I was lucky enough to partner with India Hicks, a premier lifestyle brand that sells beauty and fashion products. After receiving this amazing clutch I had to pair it with something as high end as it made me feel, which meant bringing out my new booties for the occasion.

This sweater dress is the perfect blend of sexy and comfortable. It is also great because I can wear it to work or a night out by simply changing my shoes and accessories.

Every girl deserves at least one pair of gorgeous sunglasses. Normally I only buy cheap sunglasses since I am the queen of losing or dropping them, but I let myself splurge on this gorgeous pair and I haven’t regretted it once!

This gorgeous India Hick’s Carmen Clutch could not be more perfect! As soon as I got it in the mail I fell in love. It is perfect for date nights, dinner with the girls, or any outfit that you are looking to make a statement in! My wallet, cell phone, and lipstick (because you should never be without it!) all fit in the clutch with plenty of room to spare so it is a great size.

Well guys I splurged again but they were totally worth it. These booties are currently on sale and are definitely one of the most comfortable pair of shoes that I have put on my feet. And I don’t even think I need to mention how cute they are 🙂 I’ll let the pictures do the talking!

Scarf-vest.

Happy hump day everyone! I can’t believe we are already in our second week of the New Year! Anyone else already struggling to stay on track with those New Year’s resolutions? I have yet to start my biggest one, using my planner! My sister gave me the cutest one for Christmas and I have been studying it, planning how I am going to attack using it, and trying to organize everything I already have planned for the year. But I haven’t actually written a single thing down yet. It sounds insane I know! It’s almost too pretty to write in… just almost.

This outfit was inspired by a trend that I had seen pop up and was dying to try- blanket scarf turned vest! I find it funny that last season I had all of these blanket scarves but really didn’t wear them because I didn’t know how. Now this season there are a million in one ways to wear them so I have had fun pulling them all out of the back of my closet and giving them a second shot. Purple is hands down my favorite color and for some crazy reason it does not exist in my wardrobe! Since winter makes it a little more difficult to add color in to your outfit, being that you don’t have all of the bright options that summer brings, I try to add pops of color whenever I can. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE a good winter neutrals look and you can find me wearing this sweater dress, leggings and boots combo all day everyday, but adding color just brightens up an outfit.

This easy make shift scarf vest is the easiest to pull off. If you already have a scarf simply hang it around your neck and belt it around your stomach. I used a pretty small belt so that it would create the cinched look i was going for. Also my scarf was a pretty big size so i folded it in half length wise before draping around my neck.

Can we talk about these boots for a minute?! If a pair of shoes has ever made me feel like a million bucks, these are them! They look so sleek and chic! Now if only I had thought to buy them in every color 😉

A year in review.

When going over pictures from 2015 I decided that it would be an injustice not to share all of the wonderful memories from 2015 on here. This is honestly the first time that I have sat down after the new year to reflect on everything I was able to see, accomplish, and do the year prior. Before sitting down to recap, I thought to myself “2015 was alright, nothing big happened though”. WOW. That could not be further from the truth!! So I don’t keep you here for longer than need be I picked my favorites from each month of the year. Somehow even my favorites became a little lengthy. I guess that’s just proof of a great year!

Cheers to 2016!

Happy New Year guys! The last 2 weeks have been a whirlwind with Christmas and then New Years, and thankfully an easy couple of work weeks. I really do hope you all got to spend time with family, friends, and loved ones. I rang in the New Year with some of my favorite people and somehow happened to only snag this one picture. Too much champagne? It is very possible.

I don’t normally believe in waiting until the new year to set resolutions or goals but I decided to set a few this year being that I felt like I am starting a new chapter. Starting this blog I really am figuring it out as I go and so I think setting goals in that area is important to get it where I want it to be. As for my other goals these mostly come with either “having to adult” (as I like to call it) or simply areas of my life that I would like to prioritize this year.

  1. Be more like Jesus- I am taking these words straight from the sermon at church today. Instead of doing more good things and doing less bad things, my personal goal is to focus more on Jesus and in doing so lead a more christ like life. Jesus constantly shows us an outpouring of love, faithfulness, and compassion. All of these things are what I hope to outwardly project to others. This year I hope to dig deeper into the word, find a church home and bible study, and to love others as Christ loves us.
  2. Travel more, spend less- These two I would like to think go hand in hand because by spending less overall, I can put that money towards vacations. I already have big travel plans for 2016, budget and time permitting, including Hawaii, California, Chicago, and Italy. That’s a lot of places to take on in one year with my right-out-of-college salary!! I want to work on only spending money on the things I really need and less on clothes I will only wear for one blog post and eating out for almost every meal (oopsies!).
  3. ORGANIZE-  Y’all this is a big one!! Since college I have not really had to be that organized, outside of work at least because let’s be honest my life wasn’t all that interesting! Well with starting the blog, moving into town, growing my circle of friends, somehow I am way busier than I use to be! The number one thing on my Christmas list this year was a planner and boy am I excited to start using it! Honestly the part that I am most excited is the “To Do” list part for each week. I really don’t know how I have survived without my weekly/daily to do lists since college! I’m that girl that forgets absolutely everything, so writing down everything is a MUST! Heck I would forget to eat if I didn’t write that down 😛
  4. Grow my blog- I’m a little over 2 months in to this whole blogging thing and I absolutely love it! I’m still learning all of the odds and ends and I definitely have a long ways to go! I have a few specific goals pertaining to followers, budgeting, organizing, and planning but overall I hope to share what I love doing with more people! So if you’ve made it this far through the post, I’d just like to say thank you for stopping by and sharing in on what I am passionate about! YOU are who make this all possible and my hope is that you all can leave the blog feeling inspired or at the very least have gained a little fashion advice!

So let’s kick off 2016 with a bang and put those resolutions into action. If you have made any resolutions or goals for the new year I would love to hear them 🙂 CHEERS!

Metallic Bodycon Dress.

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

New Year’s Eve is upon us and I wanted to share another easy look for the festive night! I picked up this dress last year from Forever 21 for under $30 and its still a crowd favorite. If you are over the sequins, metallic is the next best thing!

Pairing your outfit with a statement clutch is sure to add that extra touch!

Dress (similar, only $18) // Coat // Shoes // Clutch (similar)

I can’t get over the fact that these heels are from Target! They are very similar to more expensive pairs that I have been coveting at 1/3 of the price. The earrings that I am wearing are actually my grandmothers that I have always admired that she gifted me on my 21st birthday. I’m not usually a fan of hoops but this pair stole my heart! My suggestions for a stunner New Year’s Eve outfit are to avoid the sequins this year, and instead go for a classier look. If wearing a bold dress, pair it with a simple, classic shoe like I did here. If you are wanting to let the shoes do the talking, pair it with a simple dress like this. Whatever you choose, make sure your most festive accessory is your champagne 🙂 CHEERS!
