Holiday Girls Night In Ideas with Olay Face Masks

I’m such a homebody at heart so it’s not uncommon (especially during the holidays) to find me snuggled up on the couch in my cozies, with a face mask on, sipping mama’s homemade hot chocolate (recipe here) and watching a good chick flick. I recently had the opportunity to try out Olay’s new launch of their clay stick face masks and I am so excited to share my favs. I like to use face masks just like the next girl, but I never know which ones to use or what the difference is between all of them. With so many on the market, it can be a little overwhelming am I right?!

I’ve also heard of the term “multi-masking” but felt a little too out of my element to give it a try it until recently. If you don’t know what “multi-masking” is, it is just what it sounds like: using multiple face masks at one time. The purpose of multi-masking is to target different facial needs since most of us don’t have the same type of skin or problem areas all over our face. While this Instagram famous beauty trend seems like playing Picasso on your face, it really is quite genius!

If you think about it, your T zone is usually oiliest which tends to cause clogged pores and breakouts. Because of this you want a mask that will target those stressed out areas, detox and reduce those pores, and leave your skin feeling nice and refreshed. Insert my favorite Olay Pore Detox clay stick Mask here! While I primarily use it on my forehead, I will also apply it on my nose and chin depending on how clogged my pores are in those areas. Personally, I saw the most noticeable results with this face mask being that I have oily, acne-prone skin and this mask left my skin feeling cleaner and softer than ever!

Moving onto the other areas of your face, your cheeks are normally going to be the dryer part of your face. They need hydration. Insert the Olay Glow Boost clay stick Mask here! Not only does this mask hydrate your skin, it leaves it with a natural looking glow. It brings new skin cells to life with micro-exfoliating white charcoal. This mask is very mild and is a good one to use all over on days that your skin feels a little dull.

Lastly, our skin always have those problem areas that just need a little extra TLC some days. Insert the Olay Fresh Reset clay stick Mask here! This mask is great just what it sounds like- a skin refresh. It is infused with anti-oxidant minerals to give your skin the extra loving that it needs. Lately my skin has been having horrible hormonal acne, so I will trade off between this mask and the Pore Detox.

The best part about these masks is that they are inexpensive and can be found at your local Walmart. With a low-price tag like that, you might as well try out all three. Why wear one mask when you could wear three at one time?! Another pus is that they are mess free You can apply the stick right onto your face without having to dirty your hands. This is actually better for your face as you are not getting dirt and bacteria from your hands onto your face.

If you do decide to have a girls night in complete with an Olay Stick mask or three, don’t forget that Hallmark Channel is already playing Christmas movies (eek!) and that mama’s homemade hot chocolate is just 4 ingredients. Talk about the perfect girls night in:)

Friendsgiving: What to Wear, Tablescape Decor & Hostess Gifts

Friendsgiving Ideas

Britt // Lauren // Jess // Dede

Over the past couple of years Friendsgiving has become a major celebration. And let me just say it is 100% a celebration that I can get behind, especially when good food, goof friends and good wine come together! While Thanksgiving is usually reserved for the traditional family and close friends, Friendsgiving is celebrated before or after with friends you wouldn’t normally be able to spend Thanksgiving Day with. Long story short it’s just an excuse to stuff your face surrounded by the best company and I love every bit of it.

If you are wanting to try out any new recipes, get your holiday decor out early or just host a fun event for your friends, Friendsgiving is a great option! Since the host is already offering up their home, it is always nice to have a potluck dinner. This is always my favorite because I get to try everyone’s favorite, family traditional meals. My family is pretty much known for our corn casserole contributions every year, so that is always what I bring. It helps that it’s the easiest dish to make and is always a real crowd pleaser.

My girls and I had our first Friendsgiving of the season yesterday and with so many of you attending one yourselves, I wanted to share all of the details from what to wear, some decor inspiration and little things you can bring for the hostess to say thank you! Personally, when any type of buffet is involved you can find me in stretchy pants and an oversized sweater because your girl likes second… and thirds but even if you are anti leggings, I think you will find several cute outfit ideas below for Friendsgiving or Turkey Day!

You usually can’t go wrong contributing beer or a bottle of wine, but if you do want to bring your host a little something extra, here are some of my go to gift ideas!

  • Candle- Is there really any girl that doesn’t want to burn the Capri Blue candle 24/7? I have yet to meet one so this gift is always much appreciated.
  • Gifts for the home- Chances are whoever is hosting likes to entertain often, give them something that will come in handy for all of those parties!
  • Holiday Decor- Someone who likes to entertain often will never say no to more decor!
  • Game- If your group is the gaming type, bring something that will really get the party going like a fun board game.

Best Trader Joes Products: Fall Haul

Best Trader Joes Products Fall Haul

Can you believe up until last month I was a Trader Joe’s virgin?! For someone who talks about trends all day, every day, I felt left out of the Fall frenzy that seemed to be happening at Trader Joe’s according to literally every single blogger. So my basic self had to go investigate what all the madness was about. In addition to my long list of all things pumpkin and Fall flavored, I asked all of you for your recommendations and y’all did not disappoint!

What did disappoint was honestly a lot of the fall flavored items. See below for my full grocery list that I picked up and which items I would buy again or not.

GROCERY LIST

Pumpkin O’s

Pecan Pumpkin Instant Oatmeal

Butternut Squash Mac and Cheese

Pumpkin Spice Almond Beverage

Dark Chocolate Sea Salted Almonds

Autumnal Harvest Soup

Goat Cheese & Sundried Tomato Raviolis

Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

Cauliflower Pizza Crust

Sweet Potato Gnocchi

Gorgonzola Gnocchi

Chicken Fried Rice

Coconut Shrimp

Everything But The Bagel Seasoning

Chili Limi Seasoning

Dark Chocolate Covered Strawberry Bites

Dark Chocolate Covered Banana Bites

Kung Pao Tempura Cauliflower

Green Goddess Salad Dressing

I’D BUY AGAIN

Pecan Pumpkin Instant Oatmeal

I was pleasantly surprised by this! If you are a fan of on-the-go breakfast meals, this one has a great flavor and I love the pecan pieces in it.

Dark Chocolate Sea Salted Almonds

I’d go back to TJ’s just for these. I demolished these in a few days. So good!! The perfect snack or after dinner small dessert.

Autumnal Harvest Soup

While TJ’s also has a Harvest pasta sauce (which I didn’t see) I used this chunky soup as a pasta and pizza sauce. The flavor is amazing and I love that it has small chunks of veggies. I highly recommend using it on the goat cheese & sundried tomato raviolis or as a pizza sauce on the cauliflower crust.

Goat Cheese & Sundried Tomato Raviolis

100% my favorite purchase from TJ’s. if you are a goat cheese lover, grab these! They are located in the produce section and pair nicely with the Autumnal Harvest Soup used as a pasta sauce.

Cauliflower Pizza Crust

These are all the rage right now! I suggest putting a little olive oil on the crust and baking it for 5 minutes before actually putting your sauce and toppings on so that it doesn’t fall apart. It tasted just like a normal pizza crust with less calories!

Sweet Potato Gnocchi

Flavored with sage and butter this was actually pretty good. I added chicken and goat cheese and loved every bite! I will say it is a little mushy.

Gorgonzola Gnocchi

This honestly didn’t have a ton of flavor. I added spiced apples, walnuts and fresh rosemary to give it some flavor and it was amazing!

Everything But The Bagel Seasoning

This seasoning was probably the most nominated item by all of you. It is pretty darn good on avocado toast.

Green Goddess Salad Dressing

This one came highly recommended by all of you and I see why! It is a good one!

HARD PASS

Butternut Squash Mac and Cheese

Ew. So much ew. I’m not sure if it’s because I microwaved this instead of heating it up in the oven (both were listed as options), but it was dry and did not have a great flavor either. I know a ton of people liked this but I personally did not.

Pumpkin O’s

These tasted like sweet cardboard to me.

Pumpkin Spice Almond Beverage

I tried to love this, i really did. It definitely does NOT work in coffee and to be honest I didn’t 100% love it in anything else that I tried either. While it has a decent flavor, I don’t like that whatever you add it to gets this film on the top of it. Makes me wonder what I’m actually drinking!

For everything else, I did not have a love or a hate relationship with it. If I didn’t list it under “I’d buy again” or “hard pass” then it fell somewhere inbetween the two. Meaning I didn’t dislike but I also didn’t love it. If it sounds good to you, try it! If not, you can probably live without it:) If there are any must have Trader Joe’s items that I did not pick up in my initial haul, please let me know since I’ll be returning very soon!
