March Top Ten

**CLICK AN IMAGE TO SHOP THE ITEM DIRECTLY**

I use an affiliate program called rewardStyle. This means that if you click on any link- whether it be from my Instagram or blog- that takes you to a product page on a retailer’s site, rewardStyle is able to track that it originated from me. Some affiliate programs will pay the influencer for every click that they generate from their site. RewardStyle pays per purchase made. This means that if you click on one of my links and then end up purchasing that item, I will get a small commission (usually between 7-12%).  Many bloggers use this same program as part of their revenue source.

Because I use rewardStyle I do have access to data analytics. This means I can track what items are clicked on and purchased. I cannot see who clicked on them or what other items might have been purchased. For example, if you click on my Abercrombie shorts link and then purchase a swimsuit and a top in the same transaction, I will only be able to see that a purchase was made and that the shorts link is how you got to the retailer’s site.

These analytics are incredibly important to me because it allows me to see what all of you are liking. At the end of the day, this little blog business of mine is meant to be a resource for all of you so having the ability to track and measure each product’s success is invaluable. Coming from a Finance background, I tend to geek out over the analytics side of it as I find it incredibly intriguing what all of you are liking, buying and clicking on the most! It gets my gears turning because I genuinely want to bring you products that you are going to love and want to buy (at the right price point of course)!

Like I mentioned, this little blog is a full time business for me which means I am so appreciative when you choose to click and shop through my links – whether that be on Instagram or the blog. I have poured everything I have into being a resource for all of you so that hopefully it makes your life a little bit easier. I know that shopping through my links is an extra step for you, but please know it makes all the difference to me. It is how I am able to continue sharing great deals, try on sessions, and everything else. O and it allows me to pay my bills 🙂 All of that is to say, shopping through my links does not cost you anything additional (the item is the same price), the retailer will just pay me a small cut since I am the one that referred you. Please know I am so thankful when you choose to shop through my links and give me credit for helping you score a great find!

Now presenting… March Top Ten!

These shorts were the top seller by a landslide. I own them in two washes: the medium wash (as pictured here) and the light wash (knock off for these $130 ones). I have the medium wash in a 24 and the light wash in a 25. I am normally a true 25. The tie front shirt was a close second for top sellers in March and runs true to size.

Overalls have come full circle as do most trends. My guess is that most of you probably haven’t worn them since you were under the age of 5 so the thought of rocking them now feels either childish or down right crazy. Just like I swore I’d never wear skinny jeans (spoiler alert: now that’s all I own), I swore the overall trend was definitely not for me. Here I am eating my words yet again because I’m officially head over heels for these overalls.

The Madewell overalls that I’m wearing are by far the most popular pair of overalls out there right now. They are a pretty penny but after trying out several pairs of lower priced options, none compared to the Madewell pair in terms of quality and fit. To be completely transparent I also only tried three other pairs- this Old Navy pair (runs true to size), this American Eagle pair (size up 2 sizes), and this Francesca’s pair (true to size). Don’t get me wrong, all are decent alternatives but after experiencing the Madewell ones there was just no turning back. So if you don’t want to even be tempted with the price tag, do not even try them on because you will inevitably buy them and question everything you once stood for.

What I love about these overalls is the amount of stretch, the high waist, large pockets and large bib structure in the back. You will find that a lot of overalls have more of a suspender look in the back which is not the most flattering and usually results in gaping. They do fit true to size (i’m wearing an XS) and have adjustable straps. If you want to try out this trend as well, I’ve rounded up my favorites at all price points!

Cabo San Lucas Girls Trip

Cabo San Lucas Girls Trip

A couple of weeks ago Kylee (from Whine to Wine) and I put our college drinking faces on and headed down to Mexico for an adult Spring Break adventure. What is an adult Spring break you might ask? Well, it can easily be summed up as an attempt to relive your college glory days during a week that every college girl and boy pushes the party limits. Heading down to Mexico on one of the busiest travel weeks of the entire year might seem like torture to some people but we enjoyed every minute of it and like to think we fit right in.

While there, we had the opportunity to stay at two of the nicest properties in Cabo- Hacienda Beach Club and Pueblo Bonito Pacifica. Both were truly amazing but totally unique to their own. Whether you are going for a bachelorette party, girls weekend or anniversary trip, Cabo will certainly not disappoint!

HACIENDA BEACH CLUB

First up, was Hacienda Beach Club. This was my second time staying there and personally my favorite if you are looking to be right in the action. It is nestled on Medano Beach which has lots of popular spots including The Office and Mango Deck. It is also walking distance to just about anything and everything you might want to do while in Cabo. The Marina is a short walk from the hotel which is where you would catch a boat to go see the Arches or possibly a sunset cruise. It is also walking distance to tons of good restaurants, bars and other attractions. For being located right in the action, it is extremely quiet and luxurious. It is gated and hands down has the best staff. I do want to mention right off the bat that I left my Aggie ring (one of my most loved and expensive pieces) at this hotel and it was safely returned to me. If that doesn’t speak volumes, I don’t know what does.

While Hacienda is in a great location, you honestly would never have to leave if you didn’t want to. There are two pools- one adult only and one that is kid friendly, all day poolside service, beach access, free internet access, free kayak and paddle boarding, a putting green, an on site restaurant, and so much more. Although after a couple $15 cocktails, I would suggest walking down the beach to The Office or Mango Deck, two very fun places where the drinks are a little more budget friendly.

While pricey, Hacienda is hands down one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. The rooms are beyond spacious (bigger than any apartment I’ve lived in), offer a wrap around balcony that is perfect for drinks on the patio, a surround sound system and a massive kitchen (if you are in to that sort of thing). We enjoyed going down to the lobby for free coffee each morning and then coming back to our balcony to sip on our morning joe with an absolutely incredible view. We actually saw a whale one morning and you will also be able to see the arches in the distance.

Cabo San Lucas Girls Trip

We spent one luxurious day at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica and basked in all of it’s all-inclusive glory. This resort is tucked away off the beaten path outside of downtown Cabo behind two gates! It is an adult’s only property and is perfect for a couple’s or anniversary getaway. If you are heading down to Cabo for a bachelorette or girls trip, read below. This property has everything you would ever need to be pampered including multiple pools, beach cabanas, butlers, top tier food selections, a golf course, the spa and a hotel “dip pool” (a private balcony pool in each hotel suite).

Kylee and I felt like queens for a day and had a hard time leaving the relaxing luxury that Pueblo Bonito Pacifica offered. As this is an all inclusive resort, you have everything at your fingertips so that you never have to leave. The breakfast brunch was by far our favorite and offered hundreds of gourmet options. I’ve honestly never experienced resort style food this good- my plate had everything from crepes to ceviche to creme brûlée! For dinner, we ate at Península Restaurant, their on site newest restaurant that offers a variety of gourmet cuisine. I opted for the seared tuna and holy moly it was beyond good!

One thing to note about Pueblo Bonito Pacifica is that because of the location, the beach is not one that you can play in the water as the waves and low tide are far too dangerous. That being said, the beach is absolutely beautiful and a walk on the beach between cabana sessions is a MUST!

Spring Office Outfit Refresh

Sweater: LOFT | Pants: LOFT | Shoes: Similar | Bag: Amazon | Earrings: BaubleBar

Yesterday marked the first day of Spring which means that a Spring reset or refresh is in order. I personally am currently in the process of purging my closet, selling and donating old items, and making room for all the new goodies! I guess you could say Spring cleaning is in full effect. Instead of just buying new items for the new season I make myself purge the old first. Not only does this help declutter my overpacked closet, it reminds me what pieces I might have overlooked and bring those out of hiding.

  1. Purge the old– Obviously don’t get rid of everything but definitely purge items that are “so last season” or trendy items you don’t feel like are going to be around again this season.
  2. Keep the classics– Those pieces that you wear on repeat and sometimes even pull out of the dirty clothes hamper because they are just that good. Think solid color slacks, blouses and shoes.
  3. Add in new pieces– My motto is for every 3-4 pieces I get rid of, I can purchase 1 new item. The key with buying new items is to error on the side of classic rather than trendy as these pieces will last you longer. That being said, I do always treat myself to a couple trendy items for the season, I just tend to spend less on these since I know they will inevitably end up in the donate pile next season.

If you are looking to refresh your workwear wardrobe this season, now is the time to add in some color! Granted you don’t have to go full on Easter egg mode like I did, but you could easily wear these pink pants with a neutral colored top, or this striped sweater with navy slacks and accomplish a more Spring styled work outfit. Make sure to size down in the pants (I’m wearing a 00P) and since the sweater only comes in petite sizing, make sure to size up (I’m wearing a SP). If you get one thing from this post, I highly suggest my neutral suede pumps that I wear in almost every single Work Wear Wednesday post. They go with every single outfit you could imagine and are more comfortable than 99% of my flats.  See below for a few of my favorite Spring office outfit refresh picks that are all 40% off today!

Hair Food Volume Enhancement

Over the years my hair has thinned out tremendously and left me with a mane which is extremely hard to achieve natural volume. Being from the south (more specifically Texas), this is not something to mess with. I’ve tried everything from teasing brushes, to extensions, and every product imaginable trying to make my hair look bigger than it actually is. Yes, teasing works. Yes, extensions work but they both damage my hair and that’s not ideal when you are already losing hair you can’t afford to be losing!

A couple of months ago I got the chance to try out Hair Food’s Volume collection infused with kiwi fragrances and have noticed such a change in my hair and I would be a bad friend if I didn’t share the results with you ladies! in addition to adding natural volume and shine, Hair Food’s Volume collection is free of parabens and mineral oil (shampoo is free of parabens, too!). Instead it is infused with nutrients your hair actually needs! Just like your body, your hair is in desperate need of power foods and pure ingredients to grow big and strong.

Part of my hair road to recovery has been limiting my washes to every two or three days rather than once a day. I now use both the Hair Food’s Volume collection shampoo and conditioner. The combination leaves my hair feeling energized and full of body. I also have to mention the scent of these products are extremely nice and light. The kiwi and fig blend remind me of tropical vacation or fruity cocktail – both of which are two of my favorite things!

Hair Food also makes a collection for moisture and another for color treated hair. All three collection can be found at your local Walmart. That’s right, a drugstore brand that will not break the bank and actually works. A rare combination to find!

*Thank you Hair Food for sponsoring this post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.*
