LOFT

LOFT + Abercrombie Try On Session

So many sales, so little time! I normally share the bulk of sale try ons over on the ‘gram but since there are SO many good pieces on major discount right now, I wanted to share some of my favorites along with a little more information on material, sizing and fit.

LOFT is having 40% off your entire purchase with code FRIENDS and Abercrombie is having 30% off your entire purchase with code 11728.

For sizing reference I am typically an XS in tops and 00 in pants. In LOFT I wear an XS in tops, S in sweaters and size 24 in pants. LOFT’s bottoms always run big so I suggest sizing down unless I say otherwise. In Abercrombie, I wear an XS in tops/sweaters and a 25 in jeans.

Leopard Jacquard SweaterWhile there are a lot of leopard items that I love from LOFT right now, this sweater is by far my favorite. It is the softest and a good weight, being that it is not too heavy but still provides some warmth. Since I already have a fitted leopard sweater, I sized up to a medium so that I could wear this one with my Spanx leather leggings.

Velvet Skinny JeansI tried these on in a petite and I would not suggest getting petite sizing as they looked like high waters on me. I would only get petite sizing if you are under 5’2″. Otherwise I loved these jeans and they fit true to size. I typically size down in LOFT but I needed my true size in these.

Leopard Print Blouse: Again, I would not suggest getting petite sizing in this top as the petite sizing was very cropped and the arms were too short. Otherwise I loved this top. Would be perfect for the office paired with a black, camel or burgundy skirt. It would also be great for a date night paired with black skinny jeans, a leather jacket and black pumps. Just a heads up, it is on the thinner side but not sheer.

Pleated Cuff Utility BlouseI’ve posted about this top before and still love it as much as the first time that I tried it on. It is a collared shirt with the cutest sleeve detail. If you need more basic, office appropriate tops, this is such a good one! Could be paired with leopard, black, camel, navy or olive bottoms. True to size and I would not suggest getting petite.

Leopard Jacquard Pocket Skirt: If you are a fellow leopard lover, this skirt is a must! It is a flexible material and runs on the bigger side. Make sure to size down! I would have needed an 00P.

Loft + Abercrombie Try On Session

Striped Pleated Bell Cuff Sweater: Another great basic top for work. It is made out of a thin sweater material and has the cutest sleeve detail. It is a fitted sweater and runs on the smaller side. I would not suggest getting petite sizing and would also recommend sizing up! I needed a small regular.

Tweed Trousers: I wanted to love these but the fit was just not great. The petite sizing were high waters on me and I just found the waist to be ill fitting. Would not recommend.

Loft + Abercrombie Try On Session

Plaid Ruffle Collar Utility Blouse: I’ve seen a lot of bloggers post about this little plaid top but I personally did not love it and would not recommend. It looks so cute online but the neckline is not practical as it was too tight to button all the way up and looked kind of odd undone.

Pocket Sweater VestThis is a must in my opinion. It almost felt like chenille material. it was that soft. It only comes in XS/S and then M/L sizing. I’m wearing the XS/S size and feel like it fit like a true small. Great piece to layer with and wear with leggings!

Double Frayed Soft Slim Pocket Skinny JeansWhile LOFT calls them a jean, I’m going to declare them high quality jeggings. They are super stretchy and forgiving. I actually pulled them on without even having to unbutton them. They do have pockets and the double fray detail is a great touch. Highly recommend these. Size down. I’m wearing a 00 (not petite).

Loft + Abercrombie Try On Session

Marled V-Neck SweaterI love all of the long sweaters from LOFT right now because if you size up in them they can act more like a tunic to wear with leggings. I always wear a size small in LOFT sweaters which is what I’m wearing here.

Flecked Mock Neck Tunic SweaterLoved this sweater and mock neck detail. I am wearing a size small here and i’m not sure if it would have been long enough to cover my butt. If you are wanting it to cover your butt I would size up one from your normal LOFT sweater size.

Striped Split Back Mixed Media SweaterAnother favorite and great work or weekend top. It is a layered-looking sweater with the cutest back detail. I’m wearing a size small.

I actually pulled them on without even having to unbutton them. They do have pockets and the double fray detail is a great touch. Highly recommend these. Size down. I’m wearing a 00 (not petite).

Loft + Abercrombie Try On Session

Open Stitched Sleeve SweaterI loved the color of this sweater but I’m not sure how practical it is just because the sleeves do have small holes in them so it seemed like more of a Spring sweater than a Fall sweater to me. Nonetheless if it’s still warm where you are this sweater is so darn cute! Note: it also comes in grey! I’m wearing a size small.

Mock Neck Tunic SweaterThis camel tunic is insta famous and for good reason! It’s SO good + long enough to wear with leggings. It runs true to size but if you want a more fitted look, size up one for a more oversized fit. I’m wearing the XS here but would have preferred the small.

Leopard Print Puffer VestIf you own a lot of black and brown, this cute puffer jacket is the perfect accessory to tie the two together. It is not the heaviest puffer which I personally appreciated. It runs true to size. I’m wearing an XS regular. If you plan on wearing a thicker sweaters underneath, I’d size up. Also, I wouldn’t get petite as it’s already on the shorter side.

Mosaic Tie Waist ShirtdressGreat for the office or family pictures. The balloon sleeve detail adds a little something different. My only complaint with this dress is that the sleeves were a little long on me. If in between sizes, size down. I’m wearing an XS here but probably would have done the XSP.

Loft + Abercrombie Try On Session

Anemone ShirtdressLoved this dress so much. The fact that it’s made out of cotton, buttons down and has a big enough pattern to not be overbearing were all selling factors. It runs true to size. Wearing a size XS.

Loft + Abercrombie Try On Session

Dotted Pleated Bow Neck TopThis little bow top comes in pink and white. I boght both. It’s always so hard to find these types of tops and they seriously never go out of style. They are my favorite to layer under blazers and cardigans for the office. Runs true to size.

Herringbone Modern BlazerThe elbow patches on this blazer are what sold me! It is somewhat of a boxier fit but does run true to size. I would not suggest petite sizing. I got a 0 regular.

Slim PantsIf you need a black work pant I loved these because they have some stretch to them and weren’t too tight in the calves. Size down! I’m wearing a 00P.

Loft + Abercrombie Try On Session

Striped Utility BlouseWhile this wasn’t my favorite top by any means, it is a good basic and just $25! Great for work or weekend wear and would be super cute under a military vest or jacket. I do not suggest getting petite.

Slim PantsIf you need a black work pant I loved these because they have some stretch to them and weren’t too tight in the calves. Size down! I’m wearing a 00P.

Loft + Abercrombie Try On Session

Dotted Ruffle Henley ShellIf you get one top, get this one! Great for Work or weekend wear. Wear to work with a colored cardigan or blazer.

Loft + Abercrombie Try On Session

Marled Sweater: This exact sweater is not online so I linked an even better one!

Loft + Abercrombie Try On Session

Swiss Dot Ruffle Utility BlouseAnother great basic, office appropriate blouse with a dot detailing and cute sleeve detailing.

Diamond Jacquard Knit Pocket SkirtLove the pattern and amount of stretch of this skirt. Definitely size down as it runs very big. I needed an XXSP.

Loft + Abercrombie Try On Session

Abstract Fringe SweaterHow fun is this sweater? It does run on the smaller side. I am wearing a size small.

Modern Skinny Jeans in SagebrushIf you are in need of a non-distressed olive pair of jeans, these are a great quality pair. While I normally size down in LOFT jeans, these run on the smaller side so I suggest getting your true size.

Loft + Abercrombie Try On Session

Lou & Grey Seamed Poncho SweaterTop seller for the blog already. Super soft tunic that is long enough for leggings and easily paired over a long sleeve tee or a little more warmth. I plan to wear with leggings and boots.

I’d link the leggings but they honestly suck. BUT if you are looking for some good ones, I suggest these.

ABERCROMBIE

Waffle Romper: Ok so probably not that practical because who sleeps with a hood full of sherpa but how cute would this be for Christmas morning or pictures?! The answer is very cute. It runs on the smaller side so if in between sizes, size up. It also comes in a cute paisley color.

Flannel shirt: Run true to size. I’m wearing an XS. These are my number one pick for Christmas pajamas and I highly anticipate them selling out.

Flannel Pants: Run true to size. I’m wearing an XS. They have a working drawstring waist. They are a thin flannel so don’t worry about them being too hot.

Flannel shorts: Run true to size. I’m wearing an XS. They have a working drawstring waist.

Cozy graphic tee: Abercrombie calls this a tee. It’s more like a super soft, thin sweatshirt. It’s good y’all. Runs true to size.

Flannel shorts: Run true to size. I’m wearing an XS. They have a working drawstring waist.

Cozy graphic tee: Abercrombie calls this a tee. It’s more like a super soft, thin sweatshirt. It’s good y’all. Runs true to size.

Flannel joggers: If you hate wearing long pajamas that always end up like shorts in the middle of the night, these are great and not too heavy!

June Top Ten

Continuing on with the monthly top favorites, or the most purchased items by all of YOU, it is no surprise that we have some “repeat offenders”. Several of June’s top selling items were top sellers for previous months as well such as the Gucci belt dupe and Abercrombie shorts.

And as a reminder on how I obtain the monthly top ten data…

I use an affiliate program called rewardStyle. This means that if you click on any link- whether it be from my Instagram or blog- that takes you to a product page on a retailer’s site and rewardStyle is able to track that it originated from me. Some affiliate programs will pay the influencer for every click that they generate from their site. RewardStyle pays per purchase made. This means that if you click on one of my links and then end up purchasing that item, I will get a small commission (usually between 7-12%).  Many bloggers use this same program as part of their revenue source.

Because I use this service I do have access to data analytics. This means I can track what items are clicked on and purchased. I cannot see who clicked on them or what other items might have been purchased. For example, if you click on my Abercrombie shorts link and then purchase a swimsuit and a top in the same transaction, I will only be able to see that a purchase was made and that the shorts link is how you got to the retailer’s site.

These analytics are incredibly important to me because it allows me to see what all of you are liking. At the end of the day, this little blog business of mine is meant to be a resource for all of you so having the ability to track and measure each product’s success is invaluable. Coming from a Finance background, I tend to geek out over the analytics side of it as I find it incredibly intriguing what all of you are liking, buying and clicking on the most! It gets my gears turning because I genuinely want to bring you products that you are going to love and want to buy (at the right price point of course)!

Like I mentioned, this little blog is a full time business for me which means I am so appreciative when you choose to click and shop through my links – whether that be on Instagram or the blog. I have poured everything I have into being a resource for all of you so that hopefully it makes your life a little bit easier. I know that shopping through my links is an extra step for you, but please know it makes all the difference to me. It is how I am able to continue sharing great deals, try on sessions, and everything else. O and it allows me to pay my bills 🙂

All of that is to say, shopping through my links does not cost you anything additional (the item is the same price), the retailer will just pay me a small cut since I am the one that referred you. Please know I am so thankful when you choose to shop through my links and give me credit for helping you score a great find!

Now presenting… June Top Ten!

These sandals jumped to the top of the leader board last week real fast! Over 100 of y’all bought these in one day! I bought them and brown and black. Since they don’t have half sizes, I sized up to an 8 from a 7.5 but regretted not getting the 7. I will say I think they do run true to size though. For $12.99 they look just like these Steve Madden ones but for a fraction of the cost. In fact, Payless has quite a few good shoes right now and they are all included in the BOGO 60% off sales so most are under $15!

It’s no surprise that the Gucci belt dupe stays in the top ten every single month. It is now available in 3 sizes: small, medium and large.

I have owned this pair of jeans since last Fall and once they went under $20 you ladies went crazy for them! They are so darn comfortable mostly because they are super stretchy. Honestly they are the next best thing after leggings and the best part is that they come in multiple colors and lengths (petite, regular and tall). They run true to size. I wear a 25 short.

This was my first month in a long time to show you ladies how to style one piece multiple ways and it’s safe to say y’all are fans because this dress was by far a top seller. I love that not only is it appropriate for work, it would be so cute layered as a midi skirt too!

These joggers surprised me how fast they made it into the top sellers! I loved them so much myself that I snagged one color in store and then ran home and ordered the other two. They are now on sale for under $40 but make sure to size down. I got an XXSP and normally wear an XS. I showed you ladies a couple ways to style them with a nicer blouse and pumps for a comfy chic office look. I’ve linked some of those blouses and shoe options below.

You ladies like your dupes! These Sam Edelman sandals were a hit as they are very similar to the $200 Tory Burch Miller sandals. They come in 6 colors and are now on sale for 40% off. Make sure to size up a half size!

This tank and shorts combo have placed in the top ten for fourth months in a row now so you know they are good. I own the tank in 6 colors and the shorts in 3 washes. I suggest sizing up in the tank (I wear a small) and the shorts (I wear a 25). The light wash is pictured above.

I sported more “hobo chic” outfits in June than probably socially acceptable but I’m glad you all loved them as much as I did. This sweatshirt is the second one that I own from The Daily Tay shop and is SO darn comfy. These $15 shorts aren’t bad either 😉 Both run true to size but I suggest sizing up in the sweatshirt for a more oversized fit.

I’m not sure what it was about this top, but it was a fan favorite! I love it for the warmer weather because it is nice and flowly so it doesn’t stick to you in the heat. It comes in 3 colors and is now 40% off! My favorite way to wear it is with a bralette.

After publishing my huge Wedding Style Guide, this dress proved to be the top rated wedding guest dress of the season! It comes in 7 colors and is so flattering. It features an open back, a lace overlay and hugs the booty just right! The ivory color is also a beautiful dress option for my brides for any engagement photos, bridal shower or rehearsal dinner and is currently 45% off!

With so many good sales going on right now and the warmer getting warmer (hello 100 degree Houston heat), I thought it was the perfect time to share some Spring dresses that won’t break the break. All LOFT dresses are currently $49 or 50% off the original price and Old Navy is having 30% off. LOFT has so many dresses that will work for both work or play which are my favorite type of purchases because I know I will get so many wears out of them!  See below for 25 Spring dresses that I’ve had my eye on and stay tuned next week for an entire post on Spring wedding guest dress options. Yesterday marked the first day of Spring which means that a Spring reset or refresh is in order. I personally am currently in the process of purging my closet, selling and donating old items, and making room for all the new goodies! I guess you could say Spring cleaning is in full effect. Instead of just buying new items for the new season I make myself purge the old first. Not only does this help declutter my overpacked closet, it reminds me what pieces I might have overlooked and bring those out of hiding.

  1. Purge the old– Obviously don’t get rid of everything but definitely purge items that are “so last season” or trendy items you don’t feel like are going to be around again this season.
  2. Keep the classics– Those pieces that you wear on repeat and sometimes even pull out of the dirty clothes hamper because they are just that good. Think solid color slacks, blouses and shoes.
  3. Add in new pieces– My motto is for every 3-4 pieces I get rid of, I can purchase 1 new item. The key with buying new items is to error on the side of classic rather than trendy as these pieces will last you longer. That being said, I do always treat myself to a couple trendy items for the season, I just tend to spend less on these since I know they will inevitably end up in the donate pile next season.

If you are looking to refresh your workwear wardrobe this season, now is the time to add in some color! Granted you don’t have to go full on Easter egg mode like I did, but you could easily wear these pink pants with a neutral colored top, or this striped sweater with navy slacks and accomplish a more Spring styled work outfit. Make sure to size down in the pants (I’m wearing a 00P) and since the sweater only comes in petite sizing, make sure to size up (I’m wearing a SP). If you get one thing from this post, I highly suggest my neutral suede pumps that I wear in almost every single Work Wear Wednesday post. They go with every single outfit you could imagine and are more comfortable than 99% of my flats.  See below for a few of my favorite Spring office outfit refresh picks that are all 40% off today!

Keeping it short and sweet today on account that I am heading to Cabo in T minus 2 days and still have nothing to wear.. oops. Two of my favorite retailers for workwear are having BIG sales! LOFT is having 40% off with code NEWNOW and Ann Taylor is having 40% off + an additional 10% off with code 10FORYOU.

Both my sweater and top in today’s post are included in the LOFT sale and are great transitional pieces. If you don’t already own a pair of navy trousers, these cropped pants have the most darling ribbon detail down the sides and a rounded hem. In a world full of plain trousers, why not add a little something extra when you can?! If you have never owned LOFT pants, I alway suggest sizing down. I wear a 00P in this brand.

My striped sweater is a good transition piece as it is light weight enough to carry you into Spring so you don’t have to sweat on your walk from your car into the office. I sized up to a small for a looser fit but I would say it runs true to size. Mentionable features about this sweater include the two tone stripes and split side. In a world full of stripes, this sweater takes the cake for being different. It also comes in blue!
