The Moisturizer Your Skin Didn’t Know It Needed

Olay Regenerist Whip Red Jars

*This post is sponsored by Olay. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.*

I have very strong memories of both my grandmother and mother using Olay products growing up, but it wasn’t until a few years ago that I too got hooked. In high school and college, I didn’t use a moisturizer because I was convinced moisturizers made my skin greasy and therefore caused breakouts. I was sorely mistaken and wish I had been whipped into *skincare* shape long ago!

I started using Olay Regenerist Whip Face Moisturizer almost three years ago now and my skin has transformed drastically. It went from being extremely oily to what most would categorize as normal skin. Did you know that not using a daily moisturizer actually makes your skin produce more oil because it is working in overdrive to try and hydrate your skin?! I had no idea.

Let me tell you about my newest best friend, the Olay Red Jar. I use this moisturizer every single day and have brought it on every single vacation the past few months. It is extremely hydrating without leaving your face oily or sticky so I can apply it in the morning without worrying that my make-up will slide off. In fact, my make-up goes on easier and smoother than it ever has when I use Olay Regenerist Whip before I apply my make-up. It functions as a primer and soaks in super fast too!

The consistency of this moisturizer is light so it is almost weightless to the touch and feel. It literally feels like your skin just consumed a tall glass of water! And just like water, my skin craves this stuff. I have accidentally forgotten to pack my red jar on a couple vacations and my skin is noticeably less hydrated. Now it is the first product I throw in my skincare bag – I won’t make that mistake again.

Another great selling factor for me is that the Olay Regenerist Whip comes in an SPF option which I normally take on vacations with me when I know I’ll be out in the sun all day. So, if you are heading on a beach vacation or just want to protect your skin at home, Olay has you covered. If you are particularly sensitive to smells like me, I also love that they make a fragrance-free option. Honestly, there is an Olay Red Jar for everyone. My mother and grandmother can attest to that too.

Whether you are just needing a new everyday moisturizer or want to pick up the SPF packed version before your next trip, I highly recommend Olay Regenerist Whip. It has the high-end skincare feels with the drugstore price and you don’t have to fly all the way to Tokyo to get it;)

I have to say that I am pretty jealous that so many of you have vacations booked. As of now my travel list for the year isn’t too long. 4 Beach Vacation Outfit Ideas

Sandals | Beach Tee | Jeans | Luggage Set | Passport Holder

My goal when traveling is always comfort with a little bit of chic thrown into the outfit. Because airplanes are always cold, you can almost always find me in a pair of jeans or leggings with a small jacket or cardigan in my carry on. This “Hola Beaches” tee is the perfect festive shirt for any beach vacay. Another favorite of mine is this “O Hey Vacay” tee.

Peplum Top | Jean Shorts | Sandals | Straw Hat | Straw Bag | Sunglasses

A day at the beach calls for denim cut offs and the most skin bearing top you own. This peplum cami is just $10 and comes in 6 colors! Two other beach necessities are a straw hat and bag. Invest in durable ones that will last you years to come. I’ve had this hat and bag for months and have lasted me through several beach trips so far!

Bikini Top | Bikini Bottoms | Cover Up | Towel | Beach Bag | Sunglasses

If you are heading somewhere sunny, don’t forget to bring along your favorite swimsuit, cover up, beach bag and sunglasses. I never want to bring my designer shades on vacation because let’s be honest, after a few cocktails, they are usually the first to go. These oversized aviator sunglasses are my favorite everyday glasses and are just $14!

Dress | Wedge Sandals | Clutch | Earrings | Bracelet

I’m convinced almost any dress can be turned into a beach outfit with the right pair of wedges and fun accessories. These wedges are my most recent and best purchase that I expect to wear on every vacation for awhile. They come in black, brown and blush– all are good colors that can go with any outfit and instantly dress up any outfit.

If you are still in need of some vacation outfit inspiration I have an entire page to beach inspired looks. Everything from swimsuits, to beach bags, to summer dresses, find all of the inspiration here!

My look // Dress | Clutch | Shoes | Bracelets

Britt’s look // Dress | Clutch | Shoes

No sooner than Britt and I touched back down in Houston, we had already started planning our next getaway. It’s true what they say, traveling really is the only thing that you can buy that makes you richer. Well richer and fatter because lords knows you eat and drink WAY too much on vacation. Nonetheless, I think it’s safe to say that the travel bug has officially bit me so I might just be a fashion blogger turned travel blogger. I’ll keep you updated on that one 🙂

With it being the first day of Spring and vacation on the brain, I thought what better time to share a few fashion items that I am loving for vacation this year. If you are headed to the beach or somewhere tropical, Britt and I have partnered up with Elaine Turner to share with you what you can start stocking up on for those Spring vacations (besides the obvious necessities like swimsuits, sun hats and all the sunscreen in the world!).

1. Tassels

If you thought that tassels were big last year, think again. Tassels are making an appearance on just about anything and everything you can imagine, from earrings to clothing to bags. If you are worried about over accessorizing when it comes to tassels, I’m here to let you know that the limit does not exist. I wore my stacked bracelets with almost every single outfit on vacation and I’d be lying if I told you that I did not wear tassel earrings with every single outfit AND swimsuit. The obsession runs deep with this one.

2. Bright colors

As soon as the warmer weather hits, bright colors come out of hiding! This year especially orange, fuchsia, yellow, and lime green are huge. There are plenty of bright colored tops and dresses out there but if you aren’t into wearing such bold colors, the best way to add in color is through your accessories. The colorful tassels on my clutch went perfectly with several outfits that I brought with me on the trip. You can also bring in color to your outfit with your jewelry or shoes.

3. Cork accessories

I first fell in love with cork last year when Elaine Turner came out with this bag and it was the perfect accessory for my trip to Napa because wine has corks, duh 😉 I love that Elaine Turner has now designed an entire cork line that is the perfect festive touch for the beach or warmer weather. Since the color of cork is a beautiful nude color, the best part is that it goes with everything. I was almost surprised at how much I wore this bag and shoe combo on the trip. I’m serious when I say that they went with everything! A plus when you are trying to pack lightly!

Elaine Turner is kindly offering It’s All Chic To Me readers 15% off of your entire purchase with code SHELBI17. If you are needing to spruce up your Spring wardrobe, be sure to use this special discount to treat yourself to something special!

For more ideas on what to start stocking up on or if you are interested in getting a glimpse at what all you can be sure to see when it comes to Spring fashion, make sure to also check out Britt’s post today where she is also sharing her 3 must haves.

*Thank you Elaine Turner for sponsoring this post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.*
