Happy Monday friends! Is it just me or do weekends seem so much shorter in the Summer?? RIP the days when I actually had the time to get a great tan! It might only be Monday but I am already excited about the 3 day holiday weekend.

For today’s look I wanted to bring you an outfit that doesn’t scream your typical July 4th outfit. While it is fun and festive to rock thoseĀ stars and stripes or all of the red, white and blue pieces thatĀ you manage to dig out of the bottom of your closet, I know some of you still want to be festive AND chic! So instead of wearing your typical colors this holiday, try changing it up a bit. Coral is a very close (and maybe a little more fun!) color to red and turquoise is blue’s better looking cousin. I wanted to keep some white in there so I ended up with a new take on your traditional red, white and blue and came out with coral, white and turquoise.

Sticking with one of my favorite Summer trends, I paired this off-the-shoulder top withĀ theseĀ striped, coral shorts. Since I plan on being outdoors for the occasion, sandals are definitely a must. This pair just happens to be under $20 and I will be the first to admit that I own them in 3 different colors!

So if you are wanting to take a new spin on some of the traditional July 4th outfit routes, my suggestion is playing around with similar colors and patterns. You can still wear red, white and blue but don’t be afraid to put your own spin on it. When it comes to colors, don’t be afraid to branch out with similar colors, like coral and turquoise.

Another piece of advice is to rock one of your favorite red, white, blue, or similar colored attire and then add in festive details to bring your outfit together. I always like adding in pops of theĀ holiday colors into myĀ accessories. If you still aren’t sure what to wear this weekend, check back Wednesday for more July 4th outfit inspiration and I will also have plenty of red, white and blue throughout the week on my Instagram so make sure you are following along!
