Tuesday Trends: Two Piece Sets

Two Piece Set trend

Two piece sets are trending BIG time. It’s definitely one of those trends that I am hesitant to drop a lot of money on because 1) they are seasonal and 2) most of them don’t cover much surface area so what material are you paying all of those monies for?! My favorite  budget friendly places to shop this trend are Forever 21 and Red Dress Boutique which has pretty decent quality clothing that will last a few wears. If you are looking for a one time wear outfit (ex: bach party), check out Shein but make sure to read reviews for quality and sizing. And if you are looking for a splurge worthy two piece set that will last a long time, check out Revolvespecifically Free People and SuperDown brands.

Matching sets are SO fun for vacation and warmer weather. I’ve also linked a bunch of white sets that I think would be cute for bridal events and bachelorette parties. If you do try out the trend, tag me or send me a pic so that I can see!

Tuesday Trends: Backpacks

Backpack trend

Backpacks aren’t just for the classroom anymore, they are being used in place of purses, laptop bags for work, carry ons for travel and even diaper bags! I personally these two backpacks (here and here) and love that my 15″ laptop fits in both. They make traveling so much easier because my purse fits inside and I have plenty of room to carry other things in my hands. Also, my Calpak backpack has a flap on the back of it that allows it to easily fit over your suitcase handle.

I’ve rounded up backpacks of all sizes and prices below! Just hover over each picture to see the price. Keep in mind that most of these come in several color options!

April Top Ten

We are back for another monthly round up of the most purchased items from the previous month. I always love these posts because I enjoy seeing which items you ladies loved the most and which ones took a back seat. I always want to make sure that I bring you the best content and sales so looking over this data for trending items, categories and retailers helps me plan similar content for the next month and hopefully you like seeing behind the scenes a little bit too!

The past couple of months I have started sharing more of my Walmart and Amazon finds and I’d say by the number of top sellers from these two retailers that I have a good idea of what you ladies are liking! That certainly doesn’t mean that I will stop sharing my favorite items from places like Nordstrom, Abercrombie, Revolve and Old Navy!

To shop any of the below items, simply click on the picture and it will take you to the retailers site to purchase! Also, if you enjoy these types of post and are curious about how I obtain this data and track sales on the back end, scroll down to the bottom of this post for more information on that!

Top Ten Purchased Items

10. Walmart PJs

Walmart Pjs

The coziest $15 pjs you will ever buy and they come in several color combos. If in between sizes, size down.

9. LV Pouchette Dupe

Rodeo Style

These LV dupes continue to be top sellers every month. I do not personally own any of them so I cannot say what the quality is like or which seller is best. I do receive quite a few messages with very satisfied followers, I will say that! But I do suggest conducting your own research before purchasing. If you like this Amazon designer dupe, check out this post here with a lot more!

8. Abercrombie Cami

White Cami

This cami will be a staple in my Spring/Summer wardrobe. Pairs well with denim, statement skirts and pants! Both the cami and shorts are true to size.

7. Abercrombie Wrap Dress

Abercrombie Wrap Dress

The little wrap dress that is perfect for most occasions. Can be dressed up or down and is nursing friendly! Runs true to size.

6. Amazon Scalloped Swimsuit

High waisted swimsuits

This Amazon swimsuit has been a top seller for months and for good reason. It is incredible quality and looks great on every body type. If in between sizes, size up! I am typically an XS and the small fits me perfectly. It also comes in lots of color options now!

5. Revolve Cocktail Dress

Cocktail Dress

If you are in need of a cocktail dress that is bright and fun, look no further. It is on sale for $82. It does not have much stretch so I suggest sizing up if curvier. Also comes in a pretty coral color and wait till you see the back! I’m also linking my instant self tanner here.

4. Fiesta Two Piece Set

Two Piece Set

I wore this stunner of a two piece set for the RewardStyle Conference. It is $76 but I found it on Amazon for just $45. I do not personally own the Amazon one so I’d read the reviews before purchasing. The waist is not elastic so if in between sizes, size up!

3. Amazon Pearl Hair ClipsAmazon Pearl Hair Clips

One of this month’s Tuesday Trend posts was dedicated completely to hair accessories. These Amazon pearl clips come in a pack of 9 for just $10.

2. Amazon Silk Pillowcase

Silk Pillowcase Review

The Slip Silk Pillowcase and the Amazon dupe keep placing in the monthly top sellers. This month the dupe won out. If you are debating which one to get or what the benefits are, read my full review here.

1. Walmart Maxi Dress

Walmart Dress

This $16 maxi dress won by a landslide! It is insanely soft, has pockets, adjustable straps and comes in 10 colors! It runs true to size.

And as a reminder on how I obtain the monthly top ten data…

I use an affiliate program called rewardStyle. This means that if you click on any link- whether it be from my Instagram, Liketoknow.it app or blog- that takes you to a product page on a retailer’s site and rewardStyle is able to track that it originated from me. Some affiliate programs will pay the influencer for every click that they generate from their site. RewardStyle pays per purchase made. This means that if you click on one of my links and then end up purchasing that item, I will get a small commission (usually between 7-12%).  Many bloggers use this same program as part of their revenue source.

Because I use this service I do have access to data analytics. This means I can track what items are clicked on and purchased. I cannot see who clicked on them or what other items might have been purchased. For example, if you click on my Gucci Belt link and then purchase a swimsuit and a top in the same transaction, I will only be able to see that a purchase was made and that the belt link is how you got to the retailer’s site.

These analytics are incredibly important to me because it allows me to see what all of you are liking. At the end of the day, this little blog business of mine is meant to be a resource for all of you so having the ability to track and measure each product’s success is invaluable. Coming from a Finance background, I tend to geek out over the analytics side of it as I find it incredibly intriguing what all of you are liking, buying and clicking on the most! It gets my gears turning because I genuinely want to bring you products that you are going to love and want to buy (at the right price point of course)!

Like I mentioned, this little blog is a full time business for me which means I am so appreciative when you choose to click and shop through my links – whether that be on Instagram or the blog. I have poured everything I have into being a resource for all of you so that hopefully it makes your life a little bit easier. I know that shopping through my links is an extra step for you, but please know it makes all the difference to me. It is how I am able to continue sharing great deals, try on sessions, and everything else. O and it allows me to pay my bills 🙂

All of that is to say, shopping through my links does not cost you anything additional (the item is the same price), the retailer will just pay me a small cut since I am the one that referred you. Please know I am so thankful when you choose to shop through my links and give me credit for helping you score a great find!

Mother’s Day Gift Idea + Garmin Smart Watch Review

Mother's Day Garmin Smart Watch Review

Mother's Day Garmin Smart Watch Review

Mother's Day Garmin Smart Watch Review

Mother's Day Garmin Smart Watch Review

Last month at the RewardStyle Conference, I had the opportunity to meet with the Garmin team and learn all about their smart watch, the vívomove® HR. I instantly fell in love with it’s chic look and had to have my own. Since getting mine, Mama Adams has oohed and ahhed over it every time that I went home so when the time came, I knew exactly what to get her for Mother’s Day. I let her open her gift a little early this year so that she could be in these pictures with me and I’d say her face says it all of how excited she was to receive her own.

While Mama Adams has had a smart watch before this one, I have personally held off getting a smart watch up until now because frankly they just weren’t cute enough. With being in front of the camera 24/7 I didn’t want to invest in something that wouldn’t look good with every outfit. The whole point of a smart watch is to wear it all day, everyday to track your life so finding a watch that would look with everything from pjs to business casual was a must have. The biggest selling factor for me with the Garmin vívomove® HR is that it at first glance it looks just like a normal, fashionable watch but when instructed to “come to life”, the smart watch display transforms to give you all of the smart capabilities that it houses.

Garmin vívomove® HR can honestly do it all. Some of it’s features include tracking your steps, calories, distance, heart rate, and stress. Since it is able to connect to your smart phone, it can also alert you of incoming calls, text messages, calendar reminder and even social media notifications. Mama Adams is a pilates and golf lover so she is excited for all of the capabilities revolving around her active lifestyle whereas I was sold on the fact I could still be “connected” without constantly having my phone in my hand. There are so many times I will get a text message while working and then somehow I fall down a black hole of opening Instagram, scrolling my feed, watching stories, and then an hour later I realize I’ve just wasted an hour of my life all because I opened my phone to check a text message!

I could go on and on about all of it’s amazing features but I’ll just leave you with one more. The battery life on these watches is crazy good. They can last up to 5 days! This is almost unheard of with other smart watches and was another reason why Mama Adams made the switch. In fact it’s one of the main reasons that we are already looking into one for my Grandmother as well. Although it is a smart watch, it has been extremely easy to navigate and figure out which is why it would be an excellent gift for all ages.

With Mother’s Day in less than a week, I’m excited to share that Garmin is currently running a $50 off promotion so some of the vívomove® HR smart watches are as low as $150. Mama Adams opted for the Sea Foam with Silver Hardware watch (currently $150) while I have the Rose Gold Stainless Steel Case with Gray Suede Band (currently $299). The hardware and band are fully customizable depending your your lifestyle and preference. They ship in just 1-3 business days so you still have time to pick one up for mom, grandma or any other special lady in your life!
