Let’s Deck The Halls: 50+ Affordable Holiday Decor Finds

I can’t believe it’s already time to start thinking about the holidays! I won’t lie I’ve already put up my Christmas tree and started decking the halls. When it comes to home decorating do you tend to take a traditional or non traditional approach? Over the years I’ve flip flopped back and forth. For example this year I love all of the buffalo plaid. I incorporated it for Fall and am now bringing it into the holiday season as well. My holiday color inspiration this year is white, gold and black. I ordered this 7.5 flocked Christmas tree and a quite a few other pieces that I can’t wait to show you next week when I bring my vision to life!

My favorite places to shop for budget friendly home decor are always TargetWalmartTJ Maxx and Amazon. They have affordable finds that last me a few season’s worth so that way if I want to change it up one year, I didn’t invest too much money into a theme that isn’t to my liking anymore. Most finds from these places are under $20, if not less. TJ Maxx has free shipping days every so often where I like to stock up on all of the things.

Budget Friendly Fall Home Decor

When it comes to home decorating do you tend to take a traditional or non traditional approach? Over the years I’ve flip flopped back and forth. For example this year I love all of the buffalo plaid. I already know that I want to incorporate it for Fall and bring it into the holiday season as well. I plan on mixing in some harvest colors with the buffalo plaid for Fall and then trading those out for red and gold come December. I tend to gravitate towards pieces that I know can be used for multiple holidays whether that’s Halloween and Thanksgiving or Fall and Christmas!

My favorite places to shop for budget friendly home decor are always Target, TJ Maxx and Amazon. They have affordable finds that last me a few season’s worth so that way if I want to change it up one year, I didn’t invest too much money into a theme that isn’t to my liking anymore. Most finds from these places are under $20, if not less. TJ Maxx has free shipping days every so often (including TODAY!) where I like to stock up on all of the things.

Friendsgiving: What to Wear, Tablescape Decor & Hostess Gifts

Friendsgiving Ideas

Britt // Lauren // Jess // Dede

Over the past couple of years Friendsgiving has become a major celebration. And let me just say it is 100% a celebration that I can get behind, especially when good food, goof friends and good wine come together! While Thanksgiving is usually reserved for the traditional family and close friends, Friendsgiving is celebrated before or after with friends you wouldn’t normally be able to spend Thanksgiving Day with. Long story short it’s just an excuse to stuff your face surrounded by the best company and I love every bit of it.

If you are wanting to try out any new recipes, get your holiday decor out early or just host a fun event for your friends, Friendsgiving is a great option! Since the host is already offering up their home, it is always nice to have a potluck dinner. This is always my favorite because I get to try everyone’s favorite, family traditional meals. My family is pretty much known for our corn casserole contributions every year, so that is always what I bring. It helps that it’s the easiest dish to make and is always a real crowd pleaser.

My girls and I had our first Friendsgiving of the season yesterday and with so many of you attending one yourselves, I wanted to share all of the details from what to wear, some decor inspiration and little things you can bring for the hostess to say thank you! Personally, when any type of buffet is involved you can find me in stretchy pants and an oversized sweater because your girl likes second… and thirds but even if you are anti leggings, I think you will find several cute outfit ideas below for Friendsgiving or Turkey Day!

You usually can’t go wrong contributing beer or a bottle of wine, but if you do want to bring your host a little something extra, here are some of my go to gift ideas!

  • Candle- Is there really any girl that doesn’t want to burn the Capri Blue candle 24/7? I have yet to meet one so this gift is always much appreciated.
  • Gifts for the home- Chances are whoever is hosting likes to entertain often, give them something that will come in handy for all of those parties!
  • Holiday Decor- Someone who likes to entertain often will never say no to more decor!
  • Game- If your group is the gaming type, bring something that will really get the party going like a fun board game.

*Thank you Nordstrom for sponsoring this post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.*

There is no place that I’d rather be than home for the holidays. Every year my parents have tried to get us to go forgo the normal Christmas traditions and take a family vacation instead and every year my sisters and I say no. To me there is just something special about being home for the holidays.

Growing up my family always decorated the Christmas tree the Sunday after Thanksgiving. That tradition still holds true but this year it was just me, mom and dad since both sisters moved to Chicago and Austin. It definitely was a little sad putting up all of the decorations without them!

My favorite part about putting up the Christmas decorations each year is that we all would put on our Christmas pajamas, blare Christmas music and stop for hot chocolate breaks. It’s a tradition that I will no doubt hopefully one day share with my own little family.

A lot of my mom’s home decor is older or from Homegoods so it is not linkable but I was able to link some stuff for you guys and also went ahead and linked items that I put on my wish list for my own home next year! if you need a little more inspiration I shared a holiday decor gift guide here and whole round up of decor items here.

Home for the Holidays

It’s a tradition in the Adams’ household to put up the Christmas tree the Sunday after Thanksgiving so today is FINALLY the day! We put our Christmas cozies on (even if it is 80 degrees) and blare Christmas music while we pull out all of the holiday decorations and get the house looking like a winter wonderland. Most of the items you will see below are either already in our home or in my closet plus they are almost all under $50!
