Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Work Wear Chic Picks

Nordstrom Sale Work Wear

Personally, I think that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year has the best selection of work wear that they have ever had! From shoes, to dresses, to blouses that can easily transition you from work to weekend.

This Eliza J dress stood out to me while I was shopping in store for the Nordstrom Sale. It is such a stunning piece! The emerald green color, collared detail, piped belt, and peplum bottom all make this a very well thought out and gorgeous dress. The fabric is also not too hot and has a bit of stretch to it which I appreciate. It also comes in petite sizing. I am wearing a 0P. See below for some more of my top picks!

HALOGEN PEPLUM TOP

This blouse is my top work wear pick for multiple reasons! It is very well made, comfortable (it is elastic around the stomach), and comes in so many color and pattern options. It also has a clasp near the top of it that can make it more or less modest. Obviously for the office you would want this closed, but for the weekend you could undo it, throw on a bralette and you have a cute girls night or date night outfit! The clasp also makes it nursing friendly for all of my mamas out there! It does run a little big so if in between sizes, size down.

ALL IN FAVOR BLOUSE

I’m all about a piece that can transition you from nine to wine and this top is perfect for that! Throw it on with a pair of slacks (like these) and pumps (like these) for work, and then after 5 throw on a pair of jeans for happy hour! It does run a little big so if in between sizes, size down.

Not a new trend by any means but one we are seeing more than ever! Graphic tees are a fun trend to try out and even more fun to dress up. My personal favorite way right now is with printed maxi skirts  or a blazer but you can’t go wrong with a pair of denim either. See below for some of my recent stylings as well as a round up of all of my favorite affordable graphic tees and dresses right now.

Dress: Saltflat | Heels: Target | Clutch: Gigi NY | Lipstick: MAC “Diva”

Going to keep this short and sweet because it’s Friday and we all just want to get straight to the point, am I right?! I’ve been searching the internet all week to find the best sales on dresses that could be worn to a holiday event or wedding whether it’s dressy or casual! See below for my top picks under $100 or under $50! My dress (just $72) from Saltflat is an identical dupe of the Self Portrait dress for over $500! While a girl can dream, she can also be saving her pretty pennies on something more affordable (like MORE Chick-fil-a!), especially when the dupe is that good.

Several of my favorite dress retailers are already having great pre-Black Friday sales. I’m talking almost giving stuff away! ASOS and H&M are two of my go-to affordable dress shops and both are having up to 60% off right now. If you want a “splurge-worthy” dress but on major sale right now, Nordstrom or Express is where it’s at. Nordstrom is having up to 40% off and Express is having 40% off + $25 off of $100!

Under $50

And I know no outfit is complete without the perfect accessories so don’t worry I got you girl 🙂 If you already have a dress and want to make it new, a new pair of shoes, bag and jewelry is the way to go! Linking several affordable options for you ladies!

The good Lord made me a lot of things but what he did not bless me with was patience or how to be a morning person. What do these things have to do with effortless work attire? A LOT! Getting ready in the mornings for a girl is hard work and for those of us that aren’t morning people and have this thing called a J-O-B, the two don’t mix very well. Since I am one to snooze my alarm a few too many times and then get caught scrambling to make it out the door on time, the last thing I want to worry about (or have time for) is worrying about what to wear to work.

The easier and faster that I can get myself ready for work in the morning makes all of the difference, so I wanted to share my top 3 pieces of advice for effortless work attire that continue to be my saving grace for the never ending, hectic mornings.

1. Dresses are your best friend– I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again. Dresses are by far the easiest piece of clothing that a girl can wear. It’s a one and done, no hassle, no over-thinking-it kind of clothing. So there is about a 99% chance that on any given day, I will be wearing a dress. The comfier the better so what I look for is a soft material such as cotton or nylon. This one from Ellie Kai comes in 20 different patterns and is seriously one of the best feeling dresses I have ever put on! It’s made of nylon and spandex so it’s super stretchy and comfortable 🙂 Here are a few more that I am loving for work.

2.Stick to a couple pairs of neutral shoes– Call me crazy but to be honest heels are more comfortable to me than flats. Whether you are a heels or flats kind of girl, find a couple of good pairs. My black and brown pumps by far get the most use out of my entire closet because they go with everything. It makes it super simple in the morning when I need to pick out shoes because most of the time I am only choosing between 2 options so that means only 2 looks in the mirror and I’m off! I have Target brown pumps (under $30) and Sam Edelman black pumps. Here are a few more that I also own or have my eye on.

3.Dry Shampoo for the win– This one is not fashion related but it’s so important it is for sure in my top 3 pieces of advice. Really this one should go first because if I was stuck on a island and was only allowed to bring one thing, there is a good chance that my first thought would be to bring my Batiste dry shampoo. Obviously I am kidding but that stuff has saved me more time in the mornings than I can count! Bastiste– you the real MVP when it comes to bad hair days, hectic mornings, and adding a little extra volume. This stuff is the master mind of greasy hair or hair that is not willing to cooperate! I’ve also tried a lot of dry shampoos in my day and Batiste is the only one that I will use now because it is THAT good. Here are a few other products I use on the go.

I think it goes without saying that number 4 would be lots (and lots) of coffee! When in doubt, drink another cup! For all you Houston gals, here are the 10 best places to grab a cup of coffee! Now here is to hoping that your mornings be a lot more productive and less hectic then mine 🙂

*Thank you Ellie Kai for making this post possible. As always, all thoughts an opinions are my own.*
