Crushing on Yellow

Although the official Pantone color of the year is technically purple, yellow is in full force in just about every store you see. I didn’t even realize how much I was drawn to this color until a recent online order showed up and i’m not kidding when I say the entire box was yellow! I was determined I couldn’t pull off this particular color, but you’d be surprised what a little bit of self tanner does for a yellow outfit and frankly for the soul as well 😉 This is the self tanner I’ve been using and loving so far! I get the dark shade, apply it with a mitt, sleep with it on, and wash it off in the morning!

If you aren’t convinced that you can rock yellow quite yet, adding in a little color with your accessories is a good place to start. Especially if you are a neutral girl, these earrings or cute espadrilles (true to size) would instantly take your muted outfit to Spring time cutie! After getting several requests from you ladies on where to find straw bags under $50, I thought it was about time to share the good news. It is actually easier than you think to find an on trend bag on a budget. I have not tried any of these bags out myself yet but all of the ones that I found have amazing reviews (make sure you read them too!). Overalls have come full circle as do most trends. My guess is that most of you probably haven’t worn them since you were under the age of 5 so the thought of rocking them now feels either childish or down right crazy. Just like I swore I’d never wear skinny jeans (spoiler alert: now that’s all I own), I swore the overall trend was definitely not for me. Here I am eating my words yet again because I’m officially head over heels for these overalls.

The Madewell overalls that I’m wearing are by far the most popular pair of overalls out there right now. They are a pretty penny but after trying out several pairs of lower priced options, none compared to the Madewell pair in terms of quality and fit. To be completely transparent I also only tried three other pairs- this Old Navy pair (runs true to size), this American Eagle pair (size up 2 sizes), and this Francesca’s pair (true to size). Don’t get me wrong, all are decent alternatives but after experiencing the Madewell ones there was just no turning back. So if you don’t want to even be tempted with the price tag, do not even try them on because you will inevitably buy them and question everything you once stood for.

What I love about these overalls is the amount of stretch, the high waist, large pockets and large bib structure in the back. You will find that a lot of overalls have more of a suspender look in the back which is not the most flattering and usually results in gaping. They do fit true to size (i’m wearing an XS) and have adjustable straps. If you want to try out this trend as well, I’ve rounded up my favorites at all price points!

Tuesday Trend: Pink & Red

With Valentine’s Day coming up, pink and red is everywhere you look! Whether you are planning to have a fancy night out on the town or a date with your couch and a tub of ice cream, there’s an outfit fix for that 😉 While I firmly believe Valentine’s Day is highly overrated, it’s still one of my favorite excuses to get all dolled up. Even if you don’t have a date this year, grab your best girls and treat yourselves! After all, ain’t no man going to love you better than you can love yourself! Now go ahead and click purchase on that little red dress you put in your basket but weren’t actually planning to buy 😉
