Happy New Year guys! The last 2 weeks have been a whirlwind with Christmas and then New Years, and thankfully an easy couple of work weeks. I really do hope you all got to spend time with family, friends, and loved ones. I rang in the New Year with some of my favorite people and somehow happened to only snag this one picture. Too much champagne? It is very possible.

I don’t normally believe in waiting until the new year to set resolutions or goals but I decided to set a few this year being that I felt like I am starting a new chapter. Starting this blog I really am figuring it out as I go and so I think setting goals in that area is important to get it where I want it to be. As for my other goals these mostly come with either “having to adult” (as I like to call it) or simply areas of my life that I would like to prioritize this year.
- Be more like Jesus- I am taking these words straight from the sermon at church today. Instead of doing more good things and doing less bad things, my personal goal is to focus more on Jesus and in doing so lead a more christ like life. Jesus constantly shows us an outpouring of love, faithfulness, and compassion. All of these things are what I hope to outwardly project to others. This year I hope to dig deeper into the word, find a church home and bible study, and to love others as Christ loves us.
- Travel more, spend less- These two I would like to think go hand in hand because by spending less overall, I can put that money towards vacations. I already have big travel plans for 2016, budget and time permitting, including Hawaii, California, Chicago, and Italy. That’s a lot of places to take on in one year with my right-out-of-college salary!! I want to work on only spending money on the things I really need and less on clothes I will only wear for one blog post and eating out for almost every meal (oopsies!).
- ORGANIZE- Y’all this is a big one!! Since college I have not really had to be that organized, outside of work at least because let’s be honest my life wasn’t all that interesting! Well with starting the blog, moving into town, growing my circle of friends, somehow I am way busier than I use to be! The number one thing on my Christmas list this year was a planner and boy am I excited to start using it! Honestly the part that I am most excited is the “To Do” list part for each week. I really don’t know how I have survived without my weekly/daily to do lists since college! I’m that girl that forgets absolutely everything, so writing down everything is a MUST! Heck I would forget to eat if I didn’t write that down 😛
- Grow my blog- I’m a little over 2 months in to this whole blogging thing and I absolutely love it! I’m still learning all of the odds and ends and I definitely have a long ways to go! I have a few specific goals pertaining to followers, budgeting, organizing, and planning but overall I hope to share what I love doing with more people! So if you’ve made it this far through the post, I’d just like to say thank you for stopping by and sharing in on what I am passionate about! YOU are who make this all possible and my hope is that you all can leave the blog feeling inspired or at the very least have gained a little fashion advice!
So let’s kick off 2016 with a bang and put those resolutions into action. If you have made any resolutions or goals for the new year I would love to hear them 🙂 CHEERS!

New Year’s Eve is upon us and I wanted to share another easy look for the festive night! I picked up this dress last year from Forever 21 for under $30 and its still a crowd favorite. If you are over the sequins, metallic is the next best thing!
Pairing your outfit with a statement clutch is sure to add that extra touch!

I can’t get over the fact that these heels are from Target! They are very similar to more expensive pairs that I have been coveting at 1/3 of the price. The earrings that I am wearing are actually my grandmothers that I have always admired that she gifted me on my 21st birthday. I’m not usually a fan of hoops but this pair stole my heart! My suggestions for a stunner New Year’s Eve outfit are to avoid the sequins this year, and instead go for a classier look. If wearing a bold dress, pair it with a simple, classic shoe like I did here. If you are wanting to let the shoes do the talking, pair it with a simple dress like this. Whatever you choose, make sure your most festive accessory is your champagne 🙂 CHEERS!
We’ve barely recovered from all of the craziness of Christmas and already it’s time to turn our attention to New Year’s. Most of my style is usually very girly, and black is not a common color found in my closet, but this little number was the perfect combination of edgy and chic.
This shade of MAC lipstick (found here) has been my go to for a bold lip color this season.

This dress is from Free People last year and is actually a slip that I paired with another solid black slip underneath (found here). Since New Year’s Eve is usually a little chilly (and I say usually because Houston hasn’t been getting the cold memo), I thought that this adorable faux fur coat was the perfect festive piece to go with. To me, New Year’s Eve is all about bringing in the new year in style. Make your outfit fun by adding in something that sparkles or pops!
Merry Christmas Eve everyone! I wanted to share with you another festive, holiday inspired look that I will be wearing for dinner and church tonight. I scored this cute dress at Express on black Friday a few weeks back and unfortunately they are now sold out of it but I have linked a few similar options below.

You can find similar options in varying colors to the dress I am wearing here, here, and here. I paired this look with a scarf I had from last year to keep my shoulders warm. If you have any oversized scarves they work very well as a shaw or even poncho since that trend is very big this season!
Happy holidays everyone! I really hope that you enjoy these few days with friends, family, and loved ones and that you remember the reason for the season…that JESUS was born! And from that, a beautiful story of how we would all become to be saved. Merry Christmas and may you be blessed today and always!
One of the many reasons I love the holidays is all of the festive outfits. I know there are lots of holiday parties and events around this time of year so I wanted to put together an easy look that you can wear for many occasions. I wore something very similar to this for a nice Christmas dinner recently.

Unfortunately I could not find this blouse to link up since I got it last year after Christmas from Zara. Some other fun options for tops to go with this look are here, here, and here. Outfits like this are so much fun because color gets brought into the ensemble with the details. Since both my top and skirt are solid colors, this gave me the ability to have fun with the details. That means a bold lip color (MAC– “Captive”), statement clutch and jewelry! Very rarely will you find me without color in my outfit so if it’s not in the actual outfit you bet you will find it in the details! Adding in pops of color to your outfit can really make a difference in the overall appeal of an outfit. One of the best compliments I have received so far was from a coworker that told me I was her style inspiration because I always added color into my wardrobe and she wanted to start doing the same. I love when I can help someone else dress better, and overall make them feel better about their outward appearance! 🙂
Happy Holidays! Only 3 more sleeps until Santa comes!
