Sweater Weather Wishes

It might be 75 degrees in Houston today but that sure wasn’t the case last week and I wouldn’t be surprised if it snows next week (kidding!). So today’s outfit is in hopes that Houston isn’t done with the winter weather quite yet! Don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t be opposed to pulling out my spring clothes but I feel like we just put them away less than 2 months ago. My winter clothes would be jealous if they only got to come out of hiding for such a short time. 🙂

These velour pants were my proudest find after the J Crew fall clearance sale. I scored them along with a few other pairs for $7. No, I didn’t leave a digit off of that price tag! They seemed too good to be true and I still think that they are. I wear them almost once a week to work while its cold because they are so comfortable and warm. Their rich color makes them a triple threat! I’ve linked a similar, more expensive pair below but I highly recommend hitting up your local outlet mall to find a pair. Since we are heading into spring, most stores have their winter stuff on major sale and I have seen these velour pants at many stores!

These booties were a splurge this season and well worth every penny. If I had a dollar for every compliment I have received I could buy another pair! I know the price tag is pretty big but if you are looking for some high quality booties I would highly recommend these. I always try to link a cheaper option for you as well so here are some very similar booties for only $38.

I hope you all are enjoying your week. It’s a four day work week for me which is exciting but somehow my short weeks seem to be my busiest! Anyone else have that problem? Last night I had a blog event, tonight I have bible study and tomorrow I have wine club, but I can’t complain because I secretly love being busy!

Sweater Dress & India Hicks Giveaway

Every girl deserves at least one pair of gorgeous sunglasses. Normally I only buy cheap sunglasses since I am the queen of losing or dropping them, but I let myself splurge on this gorgeous pair and I haven’t regretted it once!

This gorgeous India Hick’s Carmen Clutch could not be more perfect! As soon as I got it in the mail I fell in love. It is perfect for date nights, dinner with the girls, or any outfit that you are looking to make a statement in! My wallet, cell phone, and lipstick (because you should never be without it!) all fit in the clutch with plenty of room to spare so it is a great size.

Well guys I splurged again but they were totally worth it. These booties are currently on sale and are definitely one of the most comfortable pair of shoes that I have put on my feet. And I don’t even think I need to mention how cute they are 🙂 I’ll let the pictures do the talking!

A year in review.

When going over pictures from 2015 I decided that it would be an injustice not to share all of the wonderful memories from 2015 on here. This is honestly the first time that I have sat down after the new year to reflect on everything I was able to see, accomplish, and do the year prior. Before sitting down to recap, I thought to myself “2015 was alright, nothing big happened though”. WOW. That could not be further from the truth!! So I don’t keep you here for longer than need be I picked my favorites from each month of the year. Somehow even my favorites became a little lengthy. I guess that’s just proof of a great year!

January

I went to the dark side guys!! 🙂

Best friends getting together to celebrate the engagement of Jessica to the love of her life!

February

Weekend trip to New Orleans with some of my favorite girls! We crammed 7 girls in a tiny hotel room, came home a couple hundred dollars richer, and had the weekend of a lifetime!

March

The second most wonderful time of the year- RODEOHOUSTON!! I look forward to the rodeo as soon as Christmas is over. This year I was able to see Hunter Hayes, Brad Paisley, PitBull and Dierks Bentley.

Cheering on our Aggies in their first game of the season!

Cheered on the Houston Astros game after game. All the way to the playoffs!

October

October was the month for friends. I traveled back to good old College Station for a couple Aggie games, explored my city and celebrated a couple birthdays, and had everyone over for Halloween!

November

On top of officially launching the blog, I traveled to Belize with friends!

Went to Dallas with family for Thanksgiving!

Celebrated my great aunt’s 80th birthday in style.

December

In December we fan-girled over One Direction at their concert, started a wine club with old and new friends, and celebrated the birth of Jesus!

Decorated our first home with the cutest christmas tree.

And celebrated Christmas in my parents new home in our matching pj’s.

And these were just my favorites! Sorry for the novel of a post but it was too hard to narrow them down! Going through all of my pictures really made me realize what a great year 2015 was. I traveled to SO many place! 2016 sure does have some big shoes to fill but I am so ready for it!! Best wishes for a great year, everyone!

Metallic Bodycon Dress.

New Year’s Eve is upon us and I wanted to share another easy look for the festive night! I picked up this dress last year from Forever 21 for under $30 and its still a crowd favorite. If you are over the sequins, metallic is the next best thing!

Pairing your outfit with a statement clutch is sure to add that extra touch!

I can’t get over the fact that these heels are from Target! They are very similar to more expensive pairs that I have been coveting at 1/3 of the price. The earrings that I am wearing are actually my grandmothers that I have always admired that she gifted me on my 21st birthday. I’m not usually a fan of hoops but this pair stole my heart! My suggestions for a stunner New Year’s Eve outfit are to avoid the sequins this year, and instead go for a classier look. If wearing a bold dress, pair it with a simple, classic shoe like I did here. If you are wanting to let the shoes do the talking, pair it with a simple dress like this. Whatever you choose, make sure your most festive accessory is your champagne 🙂 CHEERS!

Beaded V-neck Dress.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! I wanted to share with you another festive, holiday inspired look that I will be wearing for dinner and church tonight. I scored this cute dress at Express on black Friday a few weeks back and unfortunately they are now sold out of it but I have linked a few similar options below.

You can find similar options in varying colors to the dress I am wearing here, here, and here. I paired this look with a scarf I had from last year to keep my shoulders warm. If you have any oversized scarves they work very well as a shaw or even poncho since that trend is very big this season!
